Its a mix of rayon/nylon for the bag and its lubricated with minute amounts of talc like powder.when it explodes (15milleseconds to fully extend) you have only 1/2 blinked.its that quick.They are fitted around the world and in the US they go off at 9mph.so dont hit a kerb hard.

The airbag is bullet proof kevlar, and is needed to contain the explosion that inflates it.
It has lots of medical problems.
One is that the massive impact can break your neck.
Another is that the gases produced by the explosive are very toxic.
Sounds like an easy law suit.

The serpentine belt may have broken and was slapping against the engine . And check the air intake on the intake side of the filter for a plastic bag as they can be sucked into the filter .

read the FSM , fussing bags is dangerous. boom! nick snapped like a twig, no sheet.
1: defeat the system per FSM , do not skip this step..
2: pull all bag connectors (pass side)
3: remove glove box or panels to reach mounts.

Get the FSM, or login to mitchels or alldata dot com and see how.

Honda fit horn won't stop blowing
malfunction with the horn switch... disconnect the wire harness from the horn itself. then take remove and replace the horn switch w/ a new one.

srs means secondary restraint system. e.g air bags and things like that. when it stays on for a few seconds its because it is doing a systems check. if the light stays on all the time then there is a problem. hope i helped.
