Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. It seems to be the issue with the Thermal Fuse going bad and needs to be replaced. It is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. Also, often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

As described earlier the Thermal Fuse is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. Please do post a comment for further assistance if required.

Our dryer is not heat up. It spins, and will squeak, but does not heat up to dry. Model #417 93802200, serial #XE31600784. The washer works fine, love the unit and the space saving of the unit!

These are reliable units and use much of the same components as their side by side big brothers!
Check all settings of the heat control and confirm under all settings that no heat is present in the drum.

Also try timed drying setting versus auto drying.

No heat in drum, first check is to confirm that 220 volt is at the appliance. The washer and dryer motor operates on 115 and if the one leg of the 220 volt supply is not present the heater will not work. Check breaker, dryer plug and removing plug from wall check the connections at the cable to the dryer.

Look for burnt wires/terminals.

26409608-eitmdnr1asegqr0yqm2a1adt-2-0.jpg If connections are good than the following list of components are the most likely to have failed.

Heating element
Thermostat
Relay
Wire connections.

This unit is capable of running with just simple repairs for many years and if a qualified technician is available simple troubleshooting and repair is straight forward. All parts are available. Get an estimate before proceeding

Hope this helps?

Whirlpool dryer will not dry

In order of what is usually wrong, with the most common first, here goes: 1) The heating element has broken and must be replaced. 2) One of the overheat-sensors has overheated (or is doing so) and must be replaced. ( A note of caution here: If the unit has reached a critical point of lint overload, even a new sensor will click off until the machine is cleaned out. 3) A wire has burned in two in the back or the bottom of the machine and needs repair. 4) The circuit breaker in your hall, basement, garage, or wherever has tripped and needs reset. 5) Be certain the clothers are somewhat dry before putting them in the machine, becasue if the washing machine is not spinning the clothes dry, there can be too much water for the dryer to take out.
Also, the exhaust hose it plugged up or kinked, it can nearly stop the dryer from drying.
Be blessed.

Not drying clothes

First check your breakers in the main box. The dryer lights and drum will spin with 110 volts only the heating element needs 220 volt if one of the breakers or fuses are tripped it will not heat. Trip the breakers off then turn them back on and check it. If it still wont heat check the heating element and wires leading to it as well as the 110/ 220 volt connector it may be bad or have a wire off, if all is ok then the heating element is probably bad and a new one needs put on.

We have brought home two new roper dryers now because neither one of them heats up. we hooked up a brand new 3 prong plug to the new dryers and plugged them into the existing 220 outlet that our old dryer...

You need to double check that your wiring it up correctly at the junction block on the machine. if thats correct. Most likley is that you actually only have 110 volts going to the machine it will run fine but will not HEAT. check voltage at plug or where its wired into back of unit you should have 110 volts on two out of three with the third being ground if you dont you have a bad outlet or breaker in elec.panel

Clothes don't dry completely

Check your breaker. An electric dryer works on 220 volts, which is two 110 volts put together, but on separate lines. Those breakers have to be separated all the way from the transformer. So, if you have one breaker for the dryer, you will be okay, usually on a double pole, double throw breaker. Sometimes they are wired into two different breakers. The motor is on one breaker, and the heating element is on the other breaker. So, if they aren't on a breaker that is made as a double unit, the heating element can trip one breaker, and since they aren't made together as a unit where it will shut the whole dryer down, the motor in the dryer will still run, and the drum will still turn. It just won't dry clothes. Now, if you have made sure your power is ok, which i have no way of knowing if you just moved there, you had the dryer working in that spot for fifteen years, or what. So, if you have had it there for a while and it runs and it does not dry, and the breakers aren't tripped, then you need a new heating coil in the dryer. They burn out, just like toasters go bad, they work on the same principle. It is not that hard to replace one, just look at how the old one is before you remove it, and install the new one in the same way.

Hi, my stackable frigidare dryer isn't doing a very good job drying my clothes. The unit is about 3-4 years old, but has only been used for 2 years.

Make sure the vent is completely clear and the air blowing out is a pretty strong flow. It could be a defective thermostat too. Another reason is sometimes the washer doesn't spin the clothes out enough and they are too wet to dry normally.

Electric dryer not drying clothes

The electric dryer requires 220 volts to dry clothes but only 110 volts to turn the drum .reset your circuit breaker even if it looks ok ,if that dosent work, unplug from the wall and check where the plug wire goes into the back of the dryer and look for loose or broken wires.

Dryer not drying sufficiently

Clean out the vent air lines. If partially blocked or bent/kinked will cause this.

LG electric stackable dryer

based on your story, with no lights not even a sound that indicated you have press a button, its more likely that there is no power. check your outlet. there should be a 220 volt on the outer prongs and 110 v on the middle and against either outside prong. you may have a 220 but not the neutral which is 110 which is the voltage of the control. in some homes, even the neutral is attached to a circuit breaker. i hope i was able to help...
