Question about Car Audio & Video

Wire radio installing factory radio in 1982 300SD (mercedes). The exsisting wires are chopped up. The radio I have is for this car and has the connectors for it still pluged into it with enough wire to make the splices. The problem is things don't seem right, that is the wire guages are different and at the car end of the wires there are two wires of the same color when I only need one to go to the radio. This situation is true for about 3 sets of wires. I need to see a schematic of this area.

When I foud out you wanted money I went to " JUST ASK " site. I don't mind paying, but I do mind being tricked ! You wasted my time and yours by misleading me to believe this service is free. Oh ya, if I want to wait for who knows how long to get an answer that I can't trust, it's free. In that case your still wrong because you say get answers from an expert but you don't say it will cost you until time and effort has been given on the part of the sincere customer. If you were honest in the begining fefore I took the time to type out the problem (instead of tricking me) I would have tried you out. I also believe that when a company does business this way it's a representative of the founder. (DISHONEST)

Witch wireing harness do i use to install radio sistem

there should only be one harness for the radio system. When you took the old one out, it should be sitting right there. It will be a rectangular (if my memory is working right) and have a female end. you should have multi colors on it. red, black black with a white stripe, blue, green and orange(maybe purple, usually for speakers). if you don't see it right away, shine a light in the radio hole, and look down, it may have dropped. If it was not the factory radio, and someone put a different one in, they have plug adapters, so you don't have to chop and splice wires. they just plug in. Is this what you are seeing. let me know, I may have to look it up for you.

The wires in my 1993 ford taurus have different color wires than my new radio

I would get a wiring harness adapter for your car. You can wire your stereo to the harness and then plug it into the car's exsisting plug.

'04 Nissan Sentra S factory installed subwoofer wiring diagram

A FACTORY INSTALLED AMP/SUB WILL BE WIRED INTO THE VEHICLES FACTORY WIRING JUST AS ANY OTHER COMPONENT. YOU WOULD THINK THAT YOU WOULD FIND THICK POWER AND GROUND CABLES ALONG WITH RCA CONNECTIONS AS YOU FIND WITH MOST INSTALLS.NOT THE CASE HERE.YOU MUST FIND THE HARNESS THAT HAS THE POWER AND GROUND CONNECTIONS ALONG WITH THE INPUT WIRES FOR SOUND. YOU MUST OBTAIN A VEHICLE SPECIFIC WIRING DIAGRAM THAT HAS THE WIRING FOR THE SOUND SYSTEM PACKAGE THAT CAME WITH YOUR VEHICLE. YOU MUST THEN WIRE IN THE BLUE REMOTE TURN ON LEAD FROM YOUR UNIT TO TURN THE AMP AND SUB ON WITH YOUR RADIO AND NOT YOUR CAR BATTERY. YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO FEED SOUND TO THE AMP USING ONE OF THE REAR OUTPUTS FROM YOUR RADIO.

What color is what for the radio wires i have like a atapter

your car should have an ISO connector, all newer radios also have ISO connectors, one for the 8 speaker wires and one for the power block, they cannot be connected wrong.
If on the other hand some muppet has chopped off the connectors instead of using a proper converter connector then you should reinstall new ISO connectors.
You will need:
A 12v test light or a multimeter set to 120vdc
some masking tape to make labels and a ped to mark the labels.
A quick test to establish the correct wires is.
using your 12volt test lamp or multi meter, find a wire that is live when ignition is off, this is your +30 live, now switch on ignition and find one that is live, this is your+15 live, now switch on the lights, is there another live? this is your lights or dimmer wire. with the lights and ignition on connect the live lide of your tester to the +30 wire and find one that is earth, (you should be running outof wires by now anyway, this si your earth or ground wire.
The speaker wires will probably be seperate and if you have a bunch of 8 wires, that's them.
you will find there is a prime color and another with the same color but with a trace, so make into pairs, ie, red and red/white, green and green/white etc.
using a 1,5v AA battery touch each pair very briefly in turn, the corrisponding speaker will 'pop', mark up front left etc.
There ya go, all sorted.
