Question about Refrigerators
I have a problem with an Electrolux fridge ERE 3500. There as a clicking noise coming from the top where the control electronis are ... once click per second. This was happining at night for about one hour but has started to occur constantly.
Disconnect the power cord (or switched power off) and wait an hour or two until compressor has cooled. When you now switch the power on, the clicking is heard only once and compressor starts (weak noice and vibration noticed). When compressor gets warmed, the compressor will stop and clicking starts again (clicking comes from electric circuits when compressor is switched off and on repeatedly, but it will not start because it has stucked - this is typical fault in old compressors said maintenance expert to me). Buy a new fridge.

I have got a clicking problem on the top board of my Elextrolux ERE3000 fridge.
This sound is generated by the motor starting relay which is piloted by a 1 micro-farad capacitor.
I changed this capacitor and my fridge works again.
When you've got such repetitive behavious it is often due to a capacitor. The motor fridge was hot, which meant it was not out of service.

Problem is a circuit board on the top of the fridge. Every single one of these get the same problem. You have to change the circuit board and also the temperature sensors, because the new board is different.
Now unmounting the fridge isn't a big problem if you're a bit handy. If you know electronics chances are you can fix the old cicuit board. In my opinion it's one or some capacitors causing the problem. I bought a new circuit board since I need the fridge and don't have the time to fix the old one.

Thanks for your post, William!
I understand that you are experiencing a metal shaking noise once your thermostat switches off inside of your Electrolux refrigerator. Since there are so many metal pieces inside of your refrigerator it is hard to provide a proper diagnosis. This would require proper disassembly of your refrigerator to pinpoint what could be causing this noise. I would recommend contacting a professional technician for proper assistance. If you need assistance I would advise you to view your manufacturers website to locate a technician. Hope this helps. -Matt
