I have dell 924 printer that won't print,all it will do is put everything on the queue. It will copy, scan but in the viewing window there is no ready for printing!

Thanks for using FixYa. First, verify that there is actually no paper jam (open all the doors, take out the paper tray, take out the cartridges and visually inspect). Turn printer off and unplug the printer from all cables (power, USB, etc). Try to hold it upside down and gently shake it so that if there is any paper inside it’s removed. If still it’s not resolved then clean the print head. To clean the print head take a hot water towel with the printer unplugged and the cartridges out, clean it till the time you see there is no ink residue on the towel. Dell v305w spools but won't actually print


Check whether multiple false starts are in the print queue. Sometimes the queue gets so loaded it can't figure out what to do. You may be able to check this at the printer but shutting down the printer and starting it again may accomplish purging. After the queue has been emptied you should be able to send the job to the printer.

Try to follow the steps below to fix the problem:

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

4. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

Won't scan but prints and copies


turn off computer. turn on - does a test page print? You need to unplug the USB cable from the printer and put the test page on the scanner - push scan. This should scan the page. Turn off computer, hook USB back up. Try to scan whatever you are scanning.

My Dell All-in-One 924 Printer stays in copy mode

u can rest assure ., cause the default mode onthe printer is : mode -copy .

all dell ink jet printer model s have that as the default option .

the other modes are mode scan and mode fax . 

u can choose any mode based on ur need .

924 message "printer is busy"


Take out the cartridges
disconnect printer from computer
Turn off the printer

On the computer cancel documents in queue
if using a straight USB connection, delete all instances of printer. else remove duplicate printer icons.
reboot.

Reconnect printer (swap cables if not detected)
Insert the cartriges

Try printing again

Dell 924 will not scan


Try reinstalling the driver. Usually the scanning utility needs to be tied to an application like photoshop to process.
