Question about Samsung SP43J6HD 43" Television
That is not entirely true. This is not an incandescent lamp, it is a gas filled lamp. When it is about to go out, which includes exploding, the resistance will drop which means the lamp will pull more current. The ballast will sense this and shut down the TV. You need to replace the lamp. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4168009-change_lamp_in_dlp_projection_tv which explains how to fix the unit and where to get the parts. Let me know if you need more help.
Thanks for using FixYa.
