Question about Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

ERR error code. When I try to take a picture nothing happens.

This is for my Nikon D80.

The ERR message is not a good thing. Try a factory reset found on page 129 of the manual. On the left side of the camera is the terminal cover, inside below the USB connector is the reset switch. If that does not work then it will need to go call Nikon digital 1-800-645-6689.

Nikon d80 camera shows err error, when shutter is pressed the amount of shots remaining, shows er07. shutter works, but no picture is taken. Bracketing sign is also on display and wont go off.l


failure of the aperture unit is the usual cause - usually the contacts for the phase switch have come loose from the gear. You can find info on this by searching for the problem on the internet, including how to repair it.

Hi Jeff - The manual describes "Err" as a general error, a "Camera malfunction" and says "If error persists, consult with Nikon-authorized service representative." (Bottom of page 132 in the english version of the manual.)

Some folks have had mixed results with removing / mounting the lens once or twice, charging the battery and cleaning the contacts of both the lens and camera body's lens opening. More odten than not though - the camera has to go back to Nikon for repair. it appears that the shutter is replaced and things go back to working just fine again.

I would contact Nikon directly to learn if there are things they would like you to attempt before arranging for service of your D80.

You have not provided enough information, what is the error read? If it shows ERR then: The ERR message is not a good thing. Read page 132 of the D80 Manual. I have a Nikon D80 camera that is about 1 year old. I has worked fine until about 6 months ago. Sometimes when I turn it on and press the button to take the picture nothing happens. I have to wait awhile...

ERR message flashing. IT wont allow me to take anything


i had the same exact thing happen yesterday while shooting a wedding have NO idea why this happened, after my hsband running out and buying a new D 90 1,000 later my camers D80 is workking agin today???? did you find out why this happened to yours??? email back @ iamkelly@q.com Thank you I am going to takemine it to be serviced and cleaned mabe that seems to be the issue
