SOURCE: my dometic duo therm brisk air RV a/c unit is not cooling the RV

clicking sound could be thermal overload on the compressor. If the compressor has gone out the unit will not cool the clicking sound is possibly the compressor trying to reset but if the compressor has "gone to ground" (winding burnt out) you will need to have the compressor replaced. Good luck on your repairs hope this helped some

SOURCE: when set to cool and thermostat turned down all it

Check to make sure the compressor and condenser fan are working. If the are you may need to have the charged. If not you need to find out why.

Sounds like thermostat is failing. There is a factory set resistor that helps the thermostat keep a 2 degree accuracy. Second possibility is that you have a fan or direct airflow from the cooling system, being devirted, that is allowing the cool air hit the thermostat on the wall.

Duo Therm compressor tries to start and kicks out

I don't think these little units have a start capacitor but what I would do is check that the on/off switch wires to make sure they aren't loose. Also check the wires to the compressor for loose wires as well. It is possible that these are the first signs that the compressor is about to fail. They also can act up some when they haven't been used for awhile and then you try and start them up. Try running the unit for a few hours without asking it to cycle. It might just be a sticky valve.
