Yes you can buy it from nearest computer shop
There are 2 cable connected to cd/dvd burner Power cable and IDE data cable if it is internal.
If it is external then buy usb cable and power cable.
You can buy it from nearest computer shop or electrical shop.
If it is internal cd/dvd burner then you can give power supply from smps there are 4 to 5 power cord option from smps if all power cord used then you need to buy new smps with more power cord option most of there are enough power cord in smps so open cpu cabinet and fine power cord from smps then connect it to internal cd/dvd burner.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

The tip is missing on my power cord Whistler XCS 800..it also has rechargeable batteries but seems like it won't work without power cord. So is the cord easy to replace? Does that mean the detector is...

You can buy cigarette lighter power supplies at radio shack, they sell a wide variety of voltages and tips to fit almost any device (radar detector) you may have.
The 4 things you need to know (which you may be able to find off of the broken power cord
  • voltage, your car is ~12VDC (volts DC) but your device may need something lower
  • amperage, your device has a certain power draw, as long as your new plug has the same or higher you are good (ie: your device may say 500mA, you can use a 1A power plug (1A = 1000mA)
  • tip size, these vary from device to device, best thing is to bring it into Radio Shack with you and size it up there
  • polarity, what is positive and what is negative (on the tip), this may also be found on the old power plug or manual, or sometimes on the device itself)
I hope this helps,
Magoo

Iron won't stay running. I'm pretty sure it's the cord because if you move the cord the power is restored. Would a new cord solve the problem and where do you get a new cord?

With modern iron it can be difficult to renew the cord due to the special screws they use when making them. It does sound like the power cord is damaged. It may be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.

Lasko 2554 Wind Tower Fan

I have a Lasko HVB, but this might apply to your fan:

Without taking the thing totally apart, here's an idea you can try: The power cord on some models (like mine) has a "warning" tag. I had the damn thing all apart when I noticed this. (Well, who reads 'em??) Seems like there's a mini-fuse in the PLUG itself that, when it blows, there's nothing you can do about it except send it for repair to a factory authorized yadda yadda yadda. Who's going to do that??

If you plug in and NOTHING HAPPENS, here's what might turn out to be an cheap and easy fix: cut off a few inches of the plug end of the cord and go buy another plug at Ace. Heavy duty might be appropriate: don't think I'd want a lamp plug on this baby. Get one that's easy to install. Bring the cut off piece and they'll help you find exactly what you want.

If you want to open it up, there's a screw behind the Lasko medallion, remove that and you can snap out the grille. You can see where the cord comes in from the back of the blower housing. Test the line voltage. If you're not getting about 120VAC, it's the plug.

If that's not it, IMHO, without some knowledge or a schematic, you're screwed. That'd be me. It wasn't the plug.

Good luck!
