Do I need to upgrade my Uniden Bear-Car BC 60XLT-1 30 channel programmalbe handheld scanner from analog to digital? We cannot listen to the NASCAR radios any more? We were told we needed to go digital?

NASCAR radios are not digital & besides, your scanner can't be upgraded. Try programming your local NOAA weather frequency. If you can't hear it, your scanner is not functioning properly & it's doubtful that it would be worth the cost of repairing it.

Having troubleprogramming for nascar race

The best programming instructions are in the factory manual that you can download and print here:

You can also find a comprehensive frequency database, and a lot of other useful scanning information, here:

I have a pro 84 race scanner that I am trying to program for the 3 nascar race series. Since this scanner does not have a button to program the car # I am somewhat lost. It was suggested to use the car #'s...

Sorry, but the NASCAR label on these scanners is little more than a scam. There are no special features that make race scanning easier or organized -- they just cover the frequency range that cars and pit crews operate on.

How do i program the current 2011 nascar seasons in scanner? how do i get rid of default settings?

The PRO-95 is a pretty good trunking scanner, but it's far from ideal for NASCAR monitoring. You can use it for that purpose, and the best way would be to clear all of the programmed information by initializing the scanner. Instructions for this process are on pace 83 of the factory manual, and the best programming instructions are also in the manual. If you don't already have it, you can download and print the manual, at no cost, here:
http://scancat.com/OnLineHelp/OEM_Radio_Owners_Manuals/RadioShack-OlderManuals/Pro-95/pro95.pdf

You can find a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, or at the race track, and a lot of other useful scanning information, by visiting:
www.RadioReference.com.

BTW, the best scanners for following the NASCAR action are the Uniden BC72XLT, BC80XLT, and the BC92XLT. All are simple to operate and moderately priced. You can also pick them up used on many web sites, including eBay.

MY RADIOSHACK NASCAR PRO-84 SCANS THREW CHANNELS BUT STAYS STUCK ON ONE CERTAIN WEATHER CHANNEL AND WONT CONTINUE SCANNING AND I NEED TO NO HOW TO DELETE THAT CHANNEL COMPLETELY.

The NOAA weather frequencies have constant broadcasts, so your scanner "locks" onto them. The only ways to prevent this are to either delete the weather frequency or lock it out. To delete, just program the frequency "0.0" (zero point zero) into the channel. To lock it out, press the L/O key while on the weather freq.
