Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional

1 Answer

I am getting a error when trying to print from a remote connection from XP Pro to Server2008 the error reads... Windows presdentation Foundation Terminal Server Print W has encountered a problem and needs to close. It is a XP SP3 pc that has just been rebuilt and all Windows updates have been installed. It is a HP Laser Jet 4200 PCL printer using PCL6 drivers. It worked fine on this same machine prior to it crashing and needing rebuilt.

Hi,
The problem of your may be caused due to driver conflict or due to NOD32 antivirus (if in case you are using).

To resolve your issue, please try the following steps one by one and check if your problem got solved in any of the steps below:

1. If in case you are using NOD32 antivirus, disable /switch off the network drives scanning option in your antivirus control panel.

2. If your are not using NOD32 AV, then download a hotfix from microsoft from the below link, install it and try printing again

http://thehotfixshare.net/board/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=9930

3. If still your problem , persists then copy TsWpfWrp.exe file from any of the windows vista machine and replace the file to the windows xp machine.

Now try printing again.

I hope this is helpful in solving your problem.
Please provide your comments and concerns in following the above steps, if any.
Thanks

I tried both of these solutions. I now get an error that simply says"Some unexpected have happened to software you recently used. You were not asked to send these error reports at the time they occured.

  • Hi,
Thanks for trying out the steps.
Please try un-installing the printer driver and install it again using the driver cd which came along with your printer. I would recommend you to download the latest version of driver for your device from hp website and install the same. Before that ensure that the hotfix which I have provided is installed.

    Thanks

I am doing that right now. I will let you know how I make out. It is an old laser printer so the original disc driver is pcl 5. So not sure if that will fix it since the driver has been updated several times over the years, but I am trying it anyway...

  • please use the below link to download latest drivers.

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Tec...

While installing in win server 2003 machine, right click the setup.exe (installer in cd or in folder(if downloaded)), select "Windows xp" in the compatibility Tab and try installing the driver.

I hope this might help you.
    Thanks

  • If still nothing works out, then you can try the HP Universal Print Driver which solves problem for lot of printers.
Download and install the HP Universal Print Driver from below link and install.

    Thanks

None of these things are working. I noticed on my 2008 server .net framework is 2.0 is the only version available in my Features are when I try to add features under Server Manager. In my installed program folder I have .net framework 3.5 sp1. Also when I check my "services" file it only shows .net framewors 2.0 and it is not running. Also with 2008 server i notice during a remote connection in the printer properties under advanced Server 2008 is using Terminal Service Easy Print. I expected to see the driver for the printer. It will not allow me to choose the printers driver. I researched this and it says that .net framework 3.0 or better must be installed and running in order for Terminal Service Easy Print to function. Any of this make sense. I have worked with Server 2000, 2003 and never ran into this. This is not a problem with my vista machine. And I have 47 other XP machines on the network that have no problem. Just one machine with SP3

During the installation of Nitro PDF pro I have the error 2753

For OS -> Vista or Win 7, try these steps.
Start ' CMD ' Right Click and Run as administrator ' regsvr32 vbscript.dll
and, reinstall your Nitro PDF pro Installer.

Windows XP Users -> Read this link @ http://www.ehow.com/how_5047270_fix-internal-error.html

If you still get the error 2753, try using another Nitro PDF pro installer. Corrupted files from the installers can also cause these errors.

Hope it helps.
