Help! Acer FM56-RS Modem & Alphanumeric Pager...

By Ross - usenet poster

I am having a problem using my new acer FM56-RS flex modem with
alphanumeric paging software. The FM56-RS uses the Rockwell RCVDL56ACF
/SP chipset. I used an IBM Mwave modem without problems before. Now it
seems like the new modem can't negotiate a connection.

I have tried all sorts of different init strings without success.
All the details of my problem are here:
http://www.total.net/~sum/page rmodem/index.html
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I would try lowering the baud rate.  Sometimes a 56 type modem with paging
software will not work correctly.  Try 2400, it is fast enough for that
type of information, and can connect with more modems out there.
