SOURCE: broken flash

okay my holga flash was broken too....the batteries were working just fine cus when i turned it on, the little back light came on and the whining sound happened, but then click...no flash! so i took the back off and made a small repair and it worked!

so this is how to fix it (if its the same problem...i.e. everything electrical is working but the actual flash):

use a small screwdriver to remove the two small screws inside the camera (take out the frame and they are on the bottom and top). the front will pop off and you should be able to see the wiring.

ebbee78.jpg

where i circled in red was the problem. that curved metal piece at the bottom was too straight and was not making contact with the shutter (the top little metal prod sticking outta the circle) when i clicked it. so just bend it forward to how it looks in the picture...then do a practice click to make sure it makes contact. you can even try it with the batteries in, but be careful!! its electricity!

hope this helps!!

SOURCE: in my holga 120 cfn

The flash would fire as per the requirement, in auto mode.

If the ambient light is enough then the flash will not fire.

In case you need to use the flash in bright conditions (e.g. For using as a fill flash) please repeatedly press the flash button (The one with the lightning symbol on it) till you get a lightning bolt symbol on the camera display.

Now your flash will fire on every shot that you click!

Please ensure that you revert back to the Auto mode once done.

If this doesn't work for you, please comment and let me know, and I will be more than happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.

I will look forward to your feedback and positive rating.

SOURCE: how do I upload pictures

This is a film camera, you cannot download from it. You need either a film/slide scanner or a regular scanner to scan in the pictures themselves. Sorry.

Be aware your camera is not a professional DSLR with external flash lights.
Most camera's will get warm or even hot when you take several pictures with the flash on in a short time. Most manuals do have a warning about using the flash. Sometimes the camera is only allowed to take a picture with the flash on, once a minute or even once in a couple of minutes. When the camera becomes hot, it will prevent itself against overheating, by not charging the flash again.

Still it can be possible something els is wrong with your camera, but try to shoot with the flash, with greater intervals and look if you can use the flash any longer. Also when the battery is drained, the flash won't charge. When shooting continuously, you will drain your battery much quicker.

93 prizm with a slow battery leak

leaking acid or electrons? lol
ill toss dice, lands on electrons.... LOL
ill even guess the question.
how can i find a phantom battery drain, (find is a key word)
aka: dark current ( or parasitic drain)
the solution works on all vehicles, trains, planes, or anything with batteries.
http://www.fixkick.com/drain/drain.html

use and amp meter, ammeter, a DMM.
over 0.050 amps is bad. SAE guidelines. some cars a tad more.
Low jacks, Onstar, remote starts, alarms, BFaudio-headends.etc..
all add up,. and drain more.
newer accessories, don't. they use FLASH now,

is battery draining while asleep, or at work?
state conditions.

Batteries leaked, now it won't work

When batteries leak, that fluid can runn all around the inside nad in the wires and disolve the tiny connections on the circut boards. If the contact are really clean and shiney bright, and the flash won't work still...it may be time to buy a new flash.

Check the starter mounting bolts.. If greasy remove and clean them 100%
The bolts serve as a ground to operate. another tip.... If you have a big block engine a remote starter bracket should be attacted as well. Its a torque brack to prevent the starter fron twisting causing the drive housing from cracking.

You don't need one, put the film in and shoot, with or without flash. But you can try here.
