Try replacing the spark plug wires if you did not change them when you did the plugs. It is very important that you pull one and only one spark plug wire at a time to keep them in the correct order or your car will misfire. You should change your fuel filter every 30k miles and they are usually about $20. Try the wires first and see what happens.

The Echo does not have spark plug wires, it is coil over plug. The Echo's fuel filter is located in the tank - it is very difficult/expensive to replace and is supposidly lifetime.

You've done the important things, but check the fuel system (ie a plugged injector). You can also check if your fuel pump (or unlikely your filter) is giving you trouble by having the fuel rail pressure checked. You post was 4 months ago - was it ever resolved?

What’s the spark plug gap for a NKG bkr5egp spark plug in a 2001 Toyota echo

Most modern spark plugs are pre-gapped. As long as you have the correct plugs for that vehicle and you have not changed the gap, you can fit them straight out of the box without setting the gap.

2000 Toyota Camry When the engine is cold and the car is started, the car engine usually vibrates ans shakes. I changed the plug and the problem stopped, but after a few weeks the problem started again. ...

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

Looks like that you have a bad O2 sensor. If the O2 sensor is faulty the car may shake and there's noticeable bad emission odor. I strongly suggest that you have it replaced. You can find this sensor on the exhaust manifold.

Do you have an erratic idle? If you do then the MAF sensor must be replaced as well. A bad idle can cause the vehicle to shake. Keep me posted regarding the progress.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

We have changed the plugs in my Echo and it is still miss firing please help. No engine lights have come on

Check the spark plug wires, coil packs or cap & rotor whichever the vehicle is equipped with. Most likely you have a bad wire or coil/cap/rotor. Also check the timing if it is out of adjustment it will cause the engine to misfire.

Previa 2001 i change the oil (5w30 with aditiv )cooling liquid ,filtrs, sparks, service for 145000km the engine is running very well gas test ok but after 1000km a light on board show failure engine ....

Hi, this is very normal the chances are your O2 sensors where ok and it was just the cat causing the problem, if the cat is giving the wrong gasses out then this will cause the O2 sensor to seem as if they are faulty, so the warning you get is bad O2 sensors but the fault may well have just been the cat, get the cat changed and you should find you will have no further problems.
Plus as you have changed the sensors then this would rule out them causing you problems in the near future.

once the cat has been sorted the sensors will pick up the correct mixture from the cat and this will then stop the warning lights coming on and it will also make your car run a lot smoother and use less fuel

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

What is required for a 2001 toyota echo tune up?

I also have a Echo and would suggest:
Air filter, spark plugs. If it is still sluggish I would then replace the upstream 02 sensor. The fuel filter is apparently lifetime so it should be okay.
