Fuji finepic F470 - Damage Ribbon cable for menu controls

I am unable to change any setting on my camera or zoom. I open the camera only to find that the ribbon cable for the menu, zoom, delete, timer etc. is broken. Can any say where I can get a new ribbon or how can I contact Fuji or a Fuji parts store.

thanks,
Gordon.

Cant change from shoot mode to playback mode.also zoom lens is not adjustable

The Fuji FinePix F470 camera is an excellent device. Most of the controls are computerised in such a way that makes picture taking and viewing less stressful. Changing from shoot mode to playback mode is by the press of the play button which looks like an arrow the zoom lens is not manually adjustable it adjusts by the press of the W and T buttons.

On my Fuji F470 camera -right and left arrow keys on Menu not working. Up and down arrow keys working. How much will it cost to repair?

Your camera is suffering from ribbon strip failure.
Likely to be where the strip is folded over to fit into the camera.
These folds stress the ribbon over time and eventually split. To get it fixed you will have to send it to Fuji service centre.

"Menu / OK" button is not functioning.

Your ribbon strip that connects the keypad to the main board has either come loose or more commonly has started to break on 1 of the 2 folds in it.
Only real solution is to have it replaced

The none of the buttons on the back work. The camera shoots pictures, but no zoom, editing or programming because the buttons do not provide any changes to the camera.

The ribbon strip that connects the keypad to the board has failed.
This strip has 2 folds made in it when the camera was built. These folds stress the ribbon and eventually break.
Replacement ribbon is the only real solution

Memory Full or something esle?

Can you use any of the buttons on the back? A common problem for this model is keypad failure due to the connecting ribbon strip splitting, over time, where it is folded over.
All the buttons on the back of the camera run off the same ribbon. Only the on/off and shutter/zoom button run from a different ribbon.
For the memory problem, this camera has an internal memory but it is very limited and requires an xd card to increase memory capacity. If you cannot use the keypad to view or delete pictures then try either connecting a usb cable to the camera and computer or removing the xd card and use a card reader to view pictures.
If your pictures are stored on the internal memory then obviously you will be unable to view them if your keypad is not working and only by connecting to your pc via a usb lead will you be able to upload and view your pictures. You should also be able to delete them from the camera when plugged into your computer once you have uploaded.

Fuji Finepics E550: Menu buttons sometimes do not work.

could be the ribbon for the keypad has come loose from it's socket if it is affected randomly. Or it could be dirt or moisture on the keypad membrane affecting it. Only way to be sure is to open it up and have a look

Problem with F470 Fine pix camera

sounds like the keypad ribbon has either popped out of it's socket or, and this would be the common fault, the ribbon has broken. In which case fuji will be your only way to fix and get it serviced at the same time. last quote I recieved was £80.
source a donor camera on ebay for the cheaper option

Comes on, takes pics, menu and all else locked out or don't work

It sounds like you have a problem with the ribbon inside. You need to replace this ribbon connection. You're not locked out, the connection is faulty. Take it to your repairman and explain what is broken.

The higher end fuji's are good cameras. The A345 and A350 are a piece of crap. Low end Walmart cameras.
