Question about Accutron Curacao Chronograph Strap 26B58 Watch for Men

1 Answer

Watch is about 3 yrs old. Has always run for weeks w/ min wearing. It is now stopping after sitting for a short time & the large red/white 60sec hand for the chronograph no longer works & sort of "shakes" when the chrono is reset.

According to the instructions for similar models in the same range, these watches should be serviced ever 3-5 years.

Perhaps yours has now reached that point.

If you wish to find the nearest service center, go to Boluva.com and after selecting your region, click on "service center".

Testimonial: "Thanks, that occured to me as well, since there is no battery in this watch to replace. I just called Bulova direct, and they were very helpful. Agreed to service & fix for N/C when they verified it is still in warranty. Thanks for your help! "

My WAF2110 will ocassionally lose about 20 mins for no reason, also does this watch have an internal battery.

Automatic watches are spring driven and therefore do not have a battery.

Automatic watches thrive on being used and if you do not wear them sufficiently, they will run down and stop (or perhaps they run slowly before stopping).

Your watch should run for 38 hours before stopping.

Time so fast

If we are talking about 30/60sec per day then a regulation can be done.If you are talking of 30 mins per day there is a problem.Either way you need a Rolex watchmaker,if the watch is 4/5 years old then it may be time to service the watch.

Hi, I've owned my aquaracer for 1.5 yrs and it has just started to run slow, I've had to reset it 3 times this week... does this run off a battery?

I think it depends upo which model you have but the web site does not discuss this.

Generally, if it says "automatic" then it is spring driven (does it stop if you don't wear if for a few days?).

If it keeps going, when not worn then i is a battery driven type.

You can see the range of models on their web site http://www.tagheuer.com/the-collection/aquaracer/man/leonardo-dicaprio-ltd-edition/index.lbl?w=WAJ2116.FT6022. and you may be able identify yours from their list.

Stopwatch second hand stops/jams at 57 seconds point, jamming the whole works. watch stops. keeps excellent time otherwise if stopwatch not used. 2003 SS model. bought new from rolex.

this watch will need a service from a rolex trained repairer wich wont be cheap 700 dollars min or 500uk pounds min..you could try tapping watch in palm of hand to see if a batton or luminous paint has come loose, then all it needs is movement taking out and blown clean inside case.any decent repairer can do this.sometimes the teeth on a wheel can wear in one place hence it always stops in same place.recomend service as best action, you never loose on a rolex...

Breitling Colt Kinetic Watch - not working

I read the instructions for a similar type of watch and while the battery will keep the watch "alive" for some months when not in use, eventually the battery dies.

Since it is a kinetic watch the instructions I read said that you should gently shake the watch about 500 times to recharge the battery!

If you give it a good shake and then wear it for a few days, it should recharge itself, although it may have forgotten the time and may need re-setting.

Good luck!

I have 4 seiko watches that no longer work. Most unreliable watch

mcdevito75 here, hello Diane, I'm afraid your jeweler is correct, and so are you. It is adviseable to pull the stem out to save the battery BUT, only if your not going to wear your watch for a long time, not just over night, here"s the problem!! the quartz mechanism and most of the works are plastic, and plastic while fairly flexable when new, gets hard over time, your pulling the stem to stop the watch everyday or even once a week most likely broke the switch in the mechanism that starts the watch, if so your only option is to replace the movement if you can get one. Pull the stem to stop your watch only if your not going to wear your watch for say 2 weeks toa month.

Keeping 2008 breitling cockpit watch running

You have to wind the watch till it is fully wound (significant resistance should be felt).
It doesn't matter how many times you wind it (1 or even 40) - what matters is the strength of the spring.
Do as follows:
At any time in the morning wind the watch up till you feel there is no more winding left (should be quite tough). Memorize the time you did it.
Leave the watch (or wear it) till it stops completely.
Count the hours your watch did work (from the time you wound it).
Now you know exact power reserve for your watch.
It is advised to wind the watch 2-3 hours before the power reserve is gone.

Rate me.
, please.

Automatic Watch Stops

There can be hundereds of causes why your watch isn't working properly, so, I'll not name them.
One is clear- without help of skilled watchmaker your watch will NEVER work properly.
NOTE: It may sound very strange, but mechanical watches do NOT like to be left without job.
Next time you decide to leave mechanical watch aside for long time- do not forget to wind it up once in a 2-3 days even if you are not wearing it.
This will help to prolong watch movements life and keep timekeeping steady and accurate.

Watch stops sometimes and then restarts

If it's new, then just take it back to where you got it. There is no way your warranty can run out in a week.
