Have DECT 6.0 Uniden phone system. 2 base units and 4 small mobile units. Caller ID is not coming thru on base unit in office, but does show up on other phones. What do I do?

  • judysosinc May 13, 2010

Have DECT 3080 Series, DECT 6.0. 2 bases with phones, and four mobiles. Caller ID works on all phones except phone on Base in office. I have my manual and have looked for a solution. The books says to check with phone company to be sure I am to have Caller ID feature. Obviously I have it since it comes in on the other phones. I would really like to get this problem solved and get on with my life this morning.

Why would only one of my six phones (Uniden DECT3080 Series, DECT 6.0) not recognize Caller ID when the others do. The phone works in every other way?

I've seen your problem pop up a few times and I can't see what the others hae suggested so hopefully this won't be more of the same.

The usual excuse is to blame the phone company ie its not turned on but I assume you have as you are seeing it on all the extension phone but not the base.

I would think there is a problem with the phone on the base. We could confirm or rule that out by registering a differant phone as the #1 or base phone. If you get the caller id after then it is an internal error in the old base phone. If you don't get the caller id then it is either the base (unlikly) or the phone line. Since you have two base setups you could switch the base units and see if the error repeats which would confirm the base being the issue.

The least annoying and disruptive thing is to try the deregister and reregister. That might even fix the issue but I'd look at the base station phone itself as the problem here.

I HAVE A PANASONIC KX-TGA402 CALLER ID NOT WORKING

I purchased one cordless telephone (Siemens Gigaset) in Germany. I also had the same problem, caller-id did not work. I purchased this telephone because we can set different ringtones for different caller groups. But, if caller-id doesn't work, this feature also doesn't work. I had gone through internet and finally found that CA electronics, Bangalore has it and got it through courier (I live in Pondicherry). It worked flawlessly for two years. Then it stopped working. For 'no reason' I ordered for a 'caller-id' unit on ebay for Rs.75/- (+ Rs.75 shipping). I just got the unit and fixed it to my line. Very very surprisingly, my cordless telephone is now showing caller info. This is a real surprise to me. By the way, caller-id unit is "Eurotel" make, DTMF/FSK caller-id. I feel this is very nice solution. The 'caller-id' unit is nice (backlit display) and also there is no need of converter for using the caller-id feature of your foreign telephone. I connected caller-id between the line and telephone. That's all. Enjoy.

I have just inherated the at&t e5634b phone system. I have replaced the batteries in the hand sets. As per the manual I have de-registered each hand set. The problem is that when I register the...

This problem can be caused by the following, A bad battery, (which you say you are all new). A full base memory and a Faulty main base unit
This main base unit can only expand to four handsets and no more. If the base unit has been reset then the assigned numbers for each handset would begin with " handset 1" if they show any other number when reset then it would not have been reset..To re-set main base you will have to
De-Register All Handsets
Unplug the power supply from the base unit then Remove all handsets from the charge cradles and base then Press and hold the PAGE button on the base.
Plug in the power supply again while pressing the PAGE button, Continue pressing PAGE until the IN USE and CHARGING indicators are lit. (this could take up to 10 seconds)
Release the PAGE button All Handsets will display "enter base id".
If this does not solve your problem then you will have to replace the main base

Caller id doesn't work on all four phones

Its one of two things.

1) the phone company needs to correct the caller id signal sent to your phone, or
2) the base unit is going bad and cannot proccess the caller ID signals.

Call the phone company and ask them to check your caller id coding first.

Caller ID suddenly stopped working on our KX-TG5771 cordless sets

I have had similar problem the way I solved it .
Unplug all units from ac
Take out all batterys
unplug phone line.

Put back in reverse order .
They allways seem to work after.

I have noticed that if the phones are charged on the wrong stations they seemed to get confused for some reason.
Hope this helps

Caller id not working, called tele ph comp they said to change batt, have base unit with one in other room, base one and two not showing caller id, the batt are showing full.

Caller ID information is passed between the first and second rings.

Try connecting a regular corded telephone or a standalone Caller ID box. Does Caller ID information show up?

If you have multiple telephones (I don't mean a single cordless telephone base with multiple handsets) and none of them are showing Caller ID after 3 rings it would appear that the telephone company does not have Caller ID turned on for your telephone line.

Caller Id

Try changing the cord between the base unit and the phone jack. Some phones are pretty fussy about this, and when they are, it's usually the caller ID information that gets clobbered. Alternatively, try attaching the base unit to a different phone jack - preferably the jack with the shortest wiring run to where the phone service comes into your home.
