i have a MAG LCD monitor LT1919WDb, i turn it on and after about 5 seconds it goes black, the power light stays on and if i power it off and on it does the same thing. it is a year old. it has vga and dvi inputs, i've been using the vga because i don't have dvi on computer. i don't even have enough time to see if it is set for vga or dvi. the computer works fine with other monitors. i talked to their tech support and they said if it comes on fine for the first 5 seconds then the video card in the computer is compatible. they suggested bringing it into the shop, $100 plus parts, not worth it, any suggestions???
-   FOLLOW UP. The temporary fix lasted three days for me. Now the monitor is doing it again regardless of the brightness setting. Game over.-   robertwayne

-   I purchased two MAG LT1919WDb monitors at the same time and ran them side by side on my office computer as dual monitors. I purchased them in March of 2007. Last week (January 2009) one of them went black and is doing the exact same thing as described in this post. I just wanted to add that I tried both DVI and VGA inputs and had the same results. I had the brighness on 70 prior to the issue. I lowered the brightness down to 10 and the monitors seems to be working. I adjusted it up and made it to 43 before it went black again. I backed it off to 40 and it seems to be working. I just did this right now so I have no idea how long this will work. I will try to follow up. I am going to try to get by with this level and put off replacing the monitor as it is a secondary monitor anyway. -   robertwayne

-   My monitor is first generation KOGI 14inches, it is old but rarely used.
Recently the same thing happened. Sometimes the sreen was so dark that the windows was almost invisible and sometimes it may work fora whole day with any problem. But more frequently, down in a few second after turn on.-   Guest

- Ok! I guess I am an apprentice now hoping to be a pro soon. Anyway, I read about using a flashlight and shining it at an angle to see if I could see my desk top icons. Yes it worked. I then lowered my brightness to 20 and the monitor works now. I am afraid to move it brighter. Anyway, it should last till I get a new one which it wont be a mag!!
