Question about Samsung HLR6178W 61" HDTV

1 Answer

My hlr6178w will not turn on. I put a new bulb in it and checked the color wheel also. At first you had to hit the power button several times and then it would come on but now nothing. What could be my problem?

if you open the back panel and you fellow the ac wire whers he connect on the board on the left bottom side thats is the power supply you must see a bunch of capacitor and sub tranformer and diode you may have a few one leak.. !!!but if you not familiar whit electronics circuit analazing i highly recommand that you call a technicien to troubleshout because at the out put of the circuit you must have 4 voltage 12, 9, and 5 positive and 5 negative its depend on the circuit as been built;different brand different circuit ??? its usely call a high frequency switching power converter that give the different voltage that the other circuit needs..

that all i can do from here..

hope that give you an idea

    regards Alan

Burned out lamp?

First. Turn on the set and see if the Lamp Illuminates, If so then you have a bad Color Wheel. If the Lamp does not light up, you have a bad lamp.
Take out the lamp and look to the center of the lamp. If you see broken glass inside you have a bad lamp.

My Samsung HL-R6178W television is not turning on. All that's happening is all three LEDs (timer, lamp, stand by/temp) are flashing. About two-three months ago I had the same problem and ordered a new...

To check and see if it your bulb, remove the screw and pull the lamp assembly from the back. ON the very back where the cover is to access the lamp tape the switch so that it is all the way up and turn the television on. You should here a buzz and see a blue spark. If this is taking place, remove the tape and order another bulb. You will also see the lamp light up from the back without removing anything and just by attempting to turnt he television on. Other things that you may need to check is the lamp cover switch, DMD board, color wheel, fans, but you will need a service manual to check these things. Also, another thing you can try is to unplug the televison and plug it back in after 3 minutes. It acutally sounds like its the switch that closes its circuit when the lamp cover on the back of the television is removed.

Samsung DLP model hln617w won't turn on (not bad bulb)

Samsung is notorious for having bad color wheels in their DLPs. Well lets just say they are like toasters, they only last a certain amount of time. If the color wheel isn't spinning or is broken, the set will power down almost immediately after you hit the button, you may not even hear the entire fire up jingle. Check the wheel, if you can see the bulb light up for that split second. Actually, check it whether the bulb lights up or not.
