when ever the auto update comes up and I choose download it goes through the updates but says each one is cancelled

how can I fix this? I have tried manually updating but as it goes through the process it always comes up each update has been cancelled

the updates for windows is ok, it is the update for HP software for my Hp pavillion lap top.
I updated all the windows updates fine yesterday but doing the HP updates goes from installing to installation canceled. I tried turning off my virus protection just in case there was an issue but it still wouldn't install.

I have Windows Vista x64. I get the same bunch of "Update Canceled" messages. No explanation provided.

I have the same problem with my HP Pavillion desktop (m9200t). I have never been able to install the HP Updates.

GuruThis link if you have installed XP SP1 or 2
If you have only XP with no SP1,1a,or 2 installed
use this link then the other.
this will update your system with hot fixes and security updates then ask you to turn on auto updates.

Download and install security update first
- Click the SP38202 File Download link.
- When the File Download window appears click Run .
- When the Internet Explorer Security window appears click Run .
- When the InstallShield Wizard appears click Next .
- Accept the License Agreement and click Next .
- Click Finish and restart the computer if prompted.
