How do i uninstall avg 2014?

Sounds like you installed the AVG Security Suite instead of the AVG Antivirus Free. Go to Control Panel - Open "Programs and Features" and you should see the program listed there. Right click the program and choose Uninstall. Once uninstalled, restart your computer, download AVG Antivirus Free and install it.

Hope this helps...

Sometime back i had installed AVG on my laptop but soon enough it started blocking out a lot of the programmes that installed.SO i uninstalled it and deleted a few of the files too. But even now some...

Open your control panel and check if every program associated with AVG is been uninstalled on your computer? you can also open your firewall settings and for a minute try to disable it, just to know if the firewall is miss-configured which might block your programs from from starting. also make sure you are log on as Administrator
Let me know if this solutions works for you.

I purchased AVG but it didn't install properly so I cancelled the installation. Now how did I install the product I've already purchased? I have the license number.

Most probably it seems to be a low ram problem but you should match the specifications with your machine to find the culprit.
here are the specifications

Processor Intel Pentium 1.5 GHz Memory 512 MB RAM Hard disk free space (for installation) 750 MB HDD Recommended system requirements
Processor Intel Pentium 1.8 GHz Memory 512 MB RAM Hard disk free space (for installation) 1200 MB HDDI guess you lack something among them please verify them .
If you re still not able to resolve just comment with error message

My laptop's (Toshiba Satellite A105-S361)desktop doesn't bring the desktop icons and the task bar after I loaded AVG 9 antivirus software. Why is that? Would you mind give me a solution, pls?

The desktop icons and the task bar would generally dissappear if you have a virus on the PC. However, sometimes improper software installations may cause undesired results like we have right now. Instead of trying uninstalling anything, try restoring the system to a previous point using system restore.

Cannot uninstall AntiVirus or dowload from the internet

You might try restoring the system to a previous date. If you've done that and you still get the AVG error do a manual uninstall by deleting the program from your local hard drive (C:) then go into the registry using regedit(be careful doing this if you dont comfortable, then by all means do not attempt this step, you could possibly corrupt your operating system)type regedit in the "run" bar of the start menu . once opened search for AVG delete all of these strings, reboot and reinstall AVG. If this doesnt work we can go from there but this will most likley work.

Initializing error :registry value is not of binary type

Sorry to here about your problems with AVG, generally Griftsoft (AVG) is a grate program, that is until recently.
I have run AVG for years, until they get bossy and BUSH you to Buy their Program. At which time, I decided to remove them and go elsewhere! But that's me, and others have their own opium.
1st. What operating system are you using.? XP or VISTA
2nd. Have you tried to un-install AVG ?
3rd. If the program is running, on the bottom right of screen, you should see the colored box (red. blue, green and yellow) Right click on it and delete.
4th. Next go to control panel and add or remove programs
5th. Find AVG anti-virus and remove.
6th. If you are running VISTA you may want to find your start-up folder and remove from that.
If all the above fails, drop me a email and I will explain removal using MSCONFIG.

Action failed for file avgtdix.sys: starting service....

There is a known issue between AVG 8 and Anniversary Edition of Ad-Aware which gives exactly this error, so if you perhaps just got that ad-aware, uninstall it too before trying to reinstall AVG.

Then run the uninstall/cleanup util for Avast because the Windows Add/Remove isn't good for uninstalling antivirus programs. Then try reinstalling it again. If you downloaded the installation package, then it provides the uninstall option. Disable Ad-Aware's Adwatch first! Run the AVG installer. Choose the uninstall option and follow the wizard. When you get to the part to remove user settings, select it. Restart your computer then... Now reinstall AVG using the setup file you got and update it.
Restart Windows twice before you re-enable anything disabled earlier.

Should this not work and you get the same error, that means the original errornous installation is still not out of your system. Download the AVG remover from here:
http://www.avg.com/download-tools
Remove your AVG and reboot to make sure it is not there any more, and try installing again.

Let me know if the solution worked and if yes please rate me:)

Avg 8 removal problem....

hi iam sharu
The recommended procedure is a time consuming one. You must download the latest version of AVG from the website, and then run it.

1) Click on the following link and download AVG to your desktop

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0

2) Double-click on the downloaded file to run it
3) AVG will present you with three options to choose from. Choose the Uninstall option to completely uninstall AVG

Add/Remove Components - choose if you want to add/remove some components or reinstall the entire AVG program
Repair installation - this option repairs or reinstalls missing or damaged components of AVG
Uninstall - this option removes the AVG program from your PC

4) Once the uninstall has completed, restart your computer. You can then proceed to install another antivirus or install AVG again.

I'm trying to uninstal AVG, but it says there is 1 problem and will not uninstal the program. can you help me uninstal this program?

Hello darrinmoen,

You Havn't specified, What is the problem exactly. I mean you have not specified the error Description.

But still The problem could arose while uninstalling Antivirus Program would be:

1. Any *.dll file missing from antivirus directory.
2. system file of antivirus missing from System32 directory of windows.
3. Any file that belongs to antivirus are not able to load while installinfg like uninst.exe.
4.Windows installer 3.0 is not installed on ur system
(Check out all the above including reviewing ur antivirus directory for uninst.exe file)

To solve this error you must do the following:
1. Run AVG antivirus setup program to repair. some times it doesnot give you the option if half of installed program have been removed from system.
2. Go to run type "regedit" and press enter
3. go to hkey_local_machine ->SOFTWARE -> and select AVG
expand trees of AVG.
4. Check for data path and its contents in AVG directory of program files, and also For UninstPath to varify that the uninst.exe in avg directory of program files is not missplaced
5. After doing the specified solution 60% are the chances that ur program would be uninstalled. else if it doesnot uninstall the program and gives the same error then Choose system restore tool.

For restoring do the following:
1. Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories ->System Tools
and select System Restore
2. Go to next window, Choose the restore point that was before installing of ur AVG Antivirus.
3. Select that restore point by reading the description.
4. Click next to restore.

Note: Your system will restart after choosing the restore point and clicking next. It takes some time to restore.

Most probably this tool will help you to remove this antivirus.

Remove it's entry from registry by Going to run type "regedit" and press enter
go to hkey_local_machine ->SOFTWARE -> andright click AVG
and select delete option to delete.

Gimme acknowledgement after removal
