Question about Crown CE2000 2-Channel Amplifier

1 Answer

I am having a problem with my crown k2. As soon as I flip it on the lights go up but then click and it shuts down. No enable light on. I have to unplug it for a bit to get it to do the same thing again. This is with no load on it at all.

Most likely the thermal protection device is tripping due to a short circuit. Under a no load condition this is usually caused by one of the power amplifier transistors being shorted internally or a bypass capacitor shorting internally. One would have to test the components to determine the source of the failure.

Hi! When I shut my computer down the lights do not

When you shut off your PC do you:
1) Give it enough time (could take from 1 minute to 10 minutes) to shut down completely (easy sign is if the fun continues to run or lights are on)?

2) Clicked Hibernate or Sleep OR closed your laptop screen before it completely finished shutting down (this could put the PC to sleep and it would remain on, so the lights would remain on, until you woke it by moving a mouse, flipping the screen back and forth for a bit or pressing the start button (not holding))?

3) Have it plugged in (depending on the model, a light might stay on if it is charging even if it is not on(probably not this one since you said it turns off after a Hard shutdown (don't do this since this damages your computer and will make it break down after continued use)))

Check the gain control in front panel. The material use inside them is pretty thin and weak, an could break loose when hurting during manipulation.

Computer shuts down but does not turn off

Mchem, you actually have 2 separate issues going on there.
  • Open control panel > open the system control panel
  • in the system properties, click on the advanced tab
  • in the startup and recovery section, click the settings button
  • In the startup and recovery dialog box, under system failure, remove the check from the automatically restart option
  • click ok
  • click ok

  • Open control panel > open power options
  • in the power options properties, select the advanced tab,
  • in the power buttons section,
  • When I press the power button on my computer: click on the drop down menu and select the shut down option
  • click ok
Sebastien123, you only need to run the first part of this solution.
