Scan a document into Word

Hello

Notepad uses the file extension ".txt"

You can open this file in Word and then choose "Save As" and change it to the Word format (.doc or .docx).

I would assume the scanning feature is using OCR (optical character recognition) and, after the scan, the default is to save it in a .txt format so it will open in almost any computer.

You can set your computer to use Word to open .TXT files automatically. You would still have to choose the "Save As" and change the format to Word before you can make meaningful editing changes (elaborate fonts, stationary, etc.) as .TXT files have only the most basic formatting available.

What is the meaning of X in the word DOCX?

The X stands for XML (Extensible Markup Language), which is the programming language behind the scenes in Office 2007 programs.
Previous versions of Word were based on binary data. Binary data is, by nature, prone to corruption, and "bloated."
By changing the background code, Microsoft was able to create new tools and features in Word 2007 that would not have been possible otherwise.

Letter head on Plain Paper

Usually word creates a new document when the program is opened.

Step 2: Inserting Header and Footer in Word Document
Click on view and then Header and Footer.

Step 3: In a Microsoft Word document, choose Insert > Picture > From File… After selecting file, it will give you a browse file option, where you have to specify the location of the logo file you have created with desired resolution and size.

Step 5: Control-click on the placed image and choose Format Picture from the pop-up menu.

Step 6: Inserting text into the Header and Footer

To insert text into your letterhead, simply select the font style and size of the text you require, then enter the text into the header and footer box.

I can't find PROSOFTDX.mis , in order to unistall it HELP!

Let me get this straight, you need to un-install that file?

If so, simply create the file where its supposed to be.
Simply right click and create txt document.

Then open it and then save it as that exact file name making sure you are saving it as ALL FILES and remove the .txt file extension.

This will then create a blank file with that filename, place the file where the un-installer is looking for it. This SHOULD resolve your issues.

Hope this helps.

Output a ghosterr.txt message when I use the Restore CD's

You can change the default abort file (ghosterror.txt) location and name by specifying the switch -afile=filename where filename contains the path and name of the error file you wish to create.

Example: ghost -afile=c:\errorfile.txt

Please try this switch and post your error file if you are successful.

I have an error msg saying load plain letter SSF 024-969

I guess that you normally use A4 paper. If this is the case you are most likely printing from a document that was created using the Letter paper size (typically a Word Doc of PDF file created in the USA). The solution is to reformat the document that you are trying to print, to A4. You may change the formatting of the document when doing this and page numbers may be incorrect when compared to the index and contents pages.
