  • Verify that all the plugs are connected to the inputs of the corresponding color.
  • Push the component cables all the way into the YPbPr sockets on the back of the TV to ensure firm connection.
  • When the problem is not resolved, try testing the TV with another accessory device to confirm whether the problem lies with the accessory device or the TV.

You may need to upgrade the software/firmware for the television.
the latest version of that software is supposed to fix issues with green/yellow "snow" on the TV screen.

the link for that software is here:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?scy=US&slg=AEN&cat=PROJECTION_TV_CA&sct=STANDARD_PROJECTION_TV_SU&session=20080329140939_76.240.205.194&grp=TV_GR&ctn=51PP9200D/37&mid=Link_Software&hlt=Link_Software

the user manual, describing how to install the update, is here:

hmmm... Is this television plugged into any kind of surge protector? try plugging it directly into the wall.

Have you tried powering it on using both the power button on the television, and the power button on the remote?

is there a blinking LED light when the TV powers off? if so, what is the pattern?

sorry for the poor links earlier. try again here

Try turning the green screen control down slightly. The screen controls are located in the back of the set on a block about the size of a pack of cigarettes. with 6 knobs 3 lower and 3 upper. 3 are for the focus and 3 are for the screen

Hi,
If lamp has not been replaced in tv in last 2-3 years, then replace the lamp as symptom shows that lamp has reached to end of its working life span and causing that problem.
Lamp is not dead or broke but weak so you get above said problem in tv.
Thanks.

Tv won't turn on. It blinks green then red.

Hi,
Question shows tv is Sony KDF-60WF655.
Green light blinks when tv gets prepare to fire up lamp, check internal circuits then show picture on front screen.
Red light blinking shows some kind of internal problem during circuit check and protection got activated upon some failure.
Count the red light blink as you will see 3 second long pause and post it here to diagnose what section of tv got problem.
Did you replaced its lamp in last 2-3 years?
Thanks.

Hi,
Symptom shows tv got problem with green picture tube that need to be replaced.
Rear projection tv has 3 picture tubes, red-green-blue to make color picture.
Since its an old model so spare parts would hardly be available and local tv repair shop will help you to arrange required part, if they can.
Thanks.

Green horizontal lines on screen no picture

The green CRT's (color picutre tube or color wheel, or ballast) will need to be tested for replacement.
It is quite common with these tv's

You will need an ohmmeter and or voltmeter and test each component for currency and accuracy

3 blinking lights and no picture

The whine or squealing you hear is either the color wheel or fan. To determine which, when the noise is heard from the set, turn it off and listen carefully. If squealing stops immediately then Tthe fault is the color wheel, not the fan. And sounds like that are generally the color wheel. A new color wheel is Samsung p/n# BP96-00250A for this model. Vance Baldwin carries them for $97.20 plus shipping. https://www.vancebaldwin.com Logon as guest, select parts and copy past the above part number in without any dashes. Good luck... Bill
