Question about Audio Players & Recorders

JVC RX330 digital tuner display

I have a JVC receiver that I am about ready to open up, but I am pretty new to this. The receiver sounds fine, and I am able to tune in FM stations clearly, but the display does not work. I was trying to put together a used system for my father-in-law, and this looks like the best receiver for his needs, but I don't want to give it to him with a missing display. Any suggestions about the first thing I should work for when I open it up?

"Dspng" what does this mean it comes on when i turn on my jvc receiver. I have no sound from my speakers used the same speakers on a different radio and they worked fine Rx6040 is no longer good

This could be a message indicating that the digital signal processor is defective or that digital signal processing has failed. In either event, it is likely that your JVC receiver is not working correctly.

I have an old JVC RX6022V audio receiver. We sold the TV that came with it and purchased a brand new TV. The place I bought the tv sold me a digital audio cable. I switched the tv to external speaker...

If your new TV has a digital audio output, your old JVC receiver probably does not have a corresponding digital input. One or the other has to be changed. Look for an EXTERNAL AUDIO output with RCA connectors on the rear of the TV.

Sound used to be clear. Now have static. Is my pyle PT54 digital tuner bad? I also get a loud hum when the unit is tunred off.

Sorry, but Pyle isn't good gear. If you've checked all the wiring and nothing else has been altered then I'd point the finger at the Pyle-o-c***

I have a Pioneer VSX-1022 Reciever - I get no sound when it is on the "TUNER"

These models have a problem where it is very easy for the tuner pcb to become disconnected from the main pcb. About the only way I've found to fix it, is to take the back panel completely off and reseat the board.

FM Tuner not receiving - Yamaha R7 receiver

Take the cover off and look at the cable that connects the tuner to the main board. Make sure it is connected straight and tight. Make sure all screws in the back are tight, just in case it is a grounding issue. Iff all checks out and you still have issues, replace your tuner.

Auto muting on when on am/fm and no sounds come out. everything else is fine.

That's normal.

The Auto Muting mode mutes the audio output of the tuner if the station is not sufficciently strong to be accurately tuned. Otherwise you would hear all that interstation hash noise.

Press the FM Mode button to change it to Mono if you want to manually tune a hard-to-reach station. It will be in Mono.

Page 26:

AUTO MUTING
Normally select this.
When a program is broadcast in stereo, you will hear stereo sound; when in monaural, you will hear monaural sound.
This mode is also useful to suppress static noise between stations. The AUTO MUTING indicator lights up on the display.

You sound so certain. Have you proven it's not just bad digital sources or connections? All channels?; what about stereo from digital sources like CD?

Sound Just Stopped Working

I have the same problem with my 49txi, and I called pioneer and a repair shop as well. Both told me that the 49txi has a known problem with over heating and that its boards unsolder themselves. I would have thought Pioneer would stand behind something this expensive, but that was the old Pioneer in the 80s, and the new Pioneer says we are on our own.

Display on but no sound from any input

I have a similar problem. I connected a Toshiba HD-a2 dvd player and cannot get digital audio from any of the hd movies. Regular dvd's play just fine. Toshiba told me the receiver is to old and can't process the new format. I was wondering if there is an upgrade for the receiver or any other way I can get 5.1 out of this receiver with out having to get a new one..
