You're laptop needs to have a profile for the router. Go to Network and Sharing Center, Manage Wireless Networks. Please remove all the listed networks there. Now click on Add, then Add a Network in Range of this Computer. Select the wireless name of your router and connect. If it asks for a network key, please type your wireless security key then connect. That should do it.
ok heres the solution. goto start,control panel,performance and maintainance,administrative tools,services. Scroll down to bottom to WIRELESS ZERO CONFIG,double click and click start. now exit and wait a minute and your limited or no connectivity should change to connected, let me know if this helps, Patrick.
if you can connect to the internet when you connect the pc to whe lan port , then your internet connection is ok and all you need to set is the wireless settings in the router. connect the pc to the router with a cable . then , Start-> Run-> type cmd-> ok-> type ipconfig-> enter-> look on the default gateway address -> type the numbers of the default gateway in the address line in your internet explorer-> there you should check , enable and or change the wireless settings.

However, even though the hard wired base unit works, my wireless laptop can't access the internet - even though a full stregnth signal is there when i browse for wireless connections.
