You cant recode the cartridge it is programmed to die and fry. You can get chips but many DIY filling options are going to cause you other issues down the road, they are a cheap way to run your printer but eventually willc ause you issues such as ink leaks which leads to the in pad needing to be renewed not to mention some other horror stories. I would alays reccomend OEM inks, but if non OEM is hte way you want to go contact a retail outlet that specialises in refilling spent cartridges.

I wouldn't recommend it because it will void your Epson warranty.

Color Ink prints are nice, but this cannot be an everyday printer --- the cartridges will put you in the poor house.

Buy a cheap monochrome laser printer (recommend the Brother brand) and save the purple ink for the elections.

Cheers!

No, the printer will not work with missing or empty cartridges.

Refilled the ink and it is still saying it needs

Unfortunately, you may need to buy new Epson manufactured ink cartridges. Some of the ink cartridges and/or printers have a setting that says this cartridge is empty and refilling the cartridge does not clear the empty code.

(It is annoying but the cheap printers are paid for by the ink purchases after the fact.)

REPLACED TWO 68 CARTRIDGES IN CX9400 EPSON

Generic carts are sometimes not recognized. Epson's chips are the cause. I solved this problem for a small investment. I purchased a CISS system for about $75.00 [ink included], that's the cost of OEM carts that do not last very long. The CX9400Fax is an Ink Hog, which is why the printer is so cheap. If you want a CISS go to http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/ They are great if you need help and will call you back in less than an hour. Get the Waste Ink Kit when ordering the CISS.

Can u refil epsom ink cartriges dx4850 if so how and where

Epson have spent a LOT of money making their cartridges as difficult as possible to refill so rather than flogging a dead horse I'd recommend locating a refillable cartridge with compatible chips that can be reset and use that instead.

I can't recommend any sellers for these cartridges myself but they are about if you look on eBay, etc...

Hope that helps.

Seems to be true even more with the other brands. Other companies make kits that constantly refill the ink but it is a modification. All inkjet printes have this problem A ccording to consumer report two nmonths ago who studied the issue Epson is the least guilty of the major brands tested. I have a pring printer in adition to my inkjet Epson  that I do most of my printing on.

Horrible ink issues..

Unless you are printing a lot in that color, my Epson Stylus photo color R300 uses black at about twice the rate as the color ones. Most packages or ink, I find, also come with two black and one of every color. All my color ones seem to emply at approximately the same time as the others.

There is no chip resetter for this model at this time. However, one is to be available in the near future. So for now you must purchase new/refilled cartridges.
