Question about Sennheiser HDR 120 Consumer Headphones

Sennheiser TR136 Wireless Headphones Nothing Happens

These wonderful headphones worked beautifully since March. My daughter admits to dropping them. Also we did have some power outages which made me wonder about a power surge. The recharger lights up okay seems to be working. The headphones themselves have nothing. No power, no sound. We tried recharging them several times. We opened the battery compartment to see if they's become disloged but they are fine. Same problem, but I do get the power-on and power-off beeps, suggesting the phones themselves work. Therefore suspect the broadcaster, not the phones. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot them^?

I had a similar problem - after owning them for 4+ years, no sound we coming out, and no beeps -- nothing. The lights on the charger stand were on though.

I tried buying new rechargable AAA batteries and they were NIMH (nickel metalhydride?) and still didnt work. I borrowed a friend's pair of NICM (nickel cadmium?) AAA rechargables though and the problem was solved!

So, it would seem the some of the new chargable battery types might not work in older models of this unit (which is also called the RS 130 now in the US and Cdn web sites).

Hope this helps!

Loose parts inside one headphone....?

The solution may be to open up the headphones and find out exactly what went wrong inside. It could be simply a loose or broken connection or something more serious related to that rattle.

Headset mic not working

It being a headset, it is most likely just a wire short. Admit it, everyone is not the gentlest with headphones. If it has a circuit board or something i would poke around on any resistors. That solves a lot of problems I have had with electronics. Just a resistor came loose or something. Good luck!

Cord is probably broken internally. If you are not good with wires and soldering and it is out of warranty, find someone who is or buy new headphones. You can manipulate the wire until it works and tape it in that position for a temp fix, otherwise the cord is shot.

Red light isn't indicating it detects source

I have the same model as you.

Plug in the transmitting unit into a good working power outlet. Make sure you have the audio connected to a loud source. Turn on the source device producing the loud audio to be transmitted to your headphones. (This being your IPod - Turn it full blast). Now see if the transmitting unit's LED light is on. Check headphones for audio. (May have to tune in the headphones till green and adjust its volume as well).

Note: Some radio stations bleed over into the headphones and you may have gotten the "Beautiful Music" from this radio station frequency harmonic anomaly. Keep tuning your headphones till you hear your music or audio source.

I recommend that the source of your audio have its built-in speakers off, while still providing audio out to your transmitting unit, via an external audio output. Check your source manual or look for audio jacks on the front or back. There may be a setting to turn this on and for the main built-in speakers to be turned off as well.

If this does not work, unplug the transmitting unit, and then plug it back in again, after waiting for about 10 seconds - all while audio is being provided to the unit. It should come on.

The right hand side ear phone swivel has broke I want to repair it, can i get a spare part for this? ( logitech noise reducing headphones)

If you cannot find a replacement, I've fixed many of my broken headphones, where they pivot, using acrylic nail powder. You can purchase it at your local beauty supply, like Sally's. You need to buy the powder and the liquid. It will bond it back together and make it stronger than it was new.. You will be amazed what you can fix with acrylic nail powder.

Good Luck.

My set has an led that glows red when on...if batteries in correctly, and switch on...do you have a red "POWER" indicator. If yes, & still no sound, 1-does the other set work? 2- either side of prob set work? 3-VOLUME up all the way? Could be bad receiver/bad speaker(s) bad vol switch.
IF no POWER led on, then 1-bad batteries 2-bad power switch 3-broken internal power lead/wire.
Kids are rough on these things...any sign was dropped, or dunked in a coke? REMOVE ear cushions are screws if yur inclined.... sk

Replace the NiMh batteries. They might be bad. Could happen during power surges as you indicated you had. Let them charge up fully 14-18 hours as the book suggests.
