Question about Audiovox PPC-6600 Pocket PC

1 Answer

Clock setting My clock keeps reverting back an hour, since daylight savings, whenever I put it on the syncher. I do not synchronize my phone, only my files, using the syncher. I am connected computer to computer. I have: unplugged the syncher, reset the clock on the PDA, restarted my desktop, added Microsoft Office 07 to my desktop, so my Outlook was updated, but all info is still there. Help, please.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Time on camera is one hour slow, have corrected it but keeps reverting back,

Hello Des Bull,

This is just going to be a wild guess.. because
you were a little close with the MAKE & MODEL of
the camera... but some of our modern devices

ARE AWARE of their location on the planet
(particularly our "SMART PHONE" cameras...

But they have GLOBAL time PROFILE
CAPABILITIES: Daylight Saving Feature
must be "ON" in your clock settings

ELSE
Your device will correct to "STANDARD TIME"

Find YOURSELF on the GLOBAL MAP
(click here, wiki) Daylight saving time
and if you live in A DAYLIGHT SAVING REGION,
your DST feature must be "on" or say "yes"

(evidently) - Your "camera" will figure out the rest

I think.. Let me know if I was close... (lease)

Hope this helps

How do I get the clock to keep the daylight savings time and not revert when I restart the car?

set the time 1 hour fast as if you are setting the clock . So instead of setting it on 12 midday set it at 1 pm even though it is midday.. clocks do not know any different.

I can not set the clock on my i river reader it keeps going back an hour after i set it help please

Do you have your PC set to automatically adjust for daylight savings? If so, try turning that off and setting your clock forward one hour manually. Although it seems that this would cause your clock to be one hour behind if the setting software isn't adjusting the clock setting for savings time.

I have a Westclox, Calander Model 70026. I have set the clock several times to the correct time,(with the time zone at the proper setting) but, after a day or so, the hour reading, reverts back...

It's most likely because of Daylight Saving Time. Your clock receives a signal through the air once a day from the actual atomic clock, much like a cell phone receives the time from your cell phone service provider, and it automatically resets itself to the exact time each time it receives this signal. Remember that the middle of the year (the second Sunday in March until the first Sunday in November in the US) is Daylight Saving Time for much of the United States. The clock has an option that allows you to set whether you are observing Daylight Saving Time or not. If this is set to "off", the time will be one hour behind until Daylight Saving Time ends (November 7th). Make sure this is set properly, and your problem will be solved.

Oregon Scientific Model 323a--Atomic clock...the atomic clock keeps setting itself to one hour behind what time it actually is in my time zone...I mannually re-set the clock to the correct time...but when...

Make sure that the clock is set for the correct time zone and that the DST (Daylight Saving Time) function is ON. Also, although not mentioned in the manuals, these clocks will typically jump and hour ahead or behind when the batteries get weak. Replace your batteries if they are more than a year old.

My clock went back one hour on Sunday 10/25, need to get it to move ahead one hour.

The clock program for Daylight savings Time is programmed for the old "third Sunday in October" changeover. The new changeover is the first Sunday in November. The program probably cannot be updated. If there is no button or setting to disable automatic change to Daylight Savings Time you can set the time manually and then change it manually to Daylight Savings on November 1 for the time to be correct.

Wrong Time

This appears to be a issue with the Magellan code. The Magellan code is setting Daylight Savings Time according to 2007 rules and not the 2008 rules. Magellan support indicates to change the time zone from Eastern to Central, save it and then put the time zone back to Eastern Time. I do not understand this solution. You can simply uncheck the Daylight Savings Time option and this will put the clock to the correct time. You will need to check the Daylight Savings Time option to put the clock ahead one hour when the clock is off by one hour. Magellan support informs me this is a manual process. Magellan needs to create a fix in their firmware to change the clock according to 2008 Daylight Savings Time when the box is checked.

Savings time

This is more of a Clarification than a solution.
I've determined that the SS-5000 is not recognizing the changes to DST that happened in 2007.

From 1986 to 2006 this was the first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October, but starting in 2007, it is observed from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, adding about a month to daylight saving time.

So in March the clock is still trying to keep the "earler" time and in November it's trying to keep the 'later' time.

I'm contacting HomeMedics Support to see if there's a resolution.

Turning daylight saving time OFF

If DST is *already* set to "on" when you reset the time zone to Z-07 (Hawaii), my very recent experience is that the time *still gets adjusted back* by one hour.  Now that daylight savings time is over (at least according to the clock's pre-programmed and outdated schedule) I'm hoping that setting the time zone to Z-07 (Hawaii) will completely cancel the automatic time changes from now on.  Otherwise, I need to purchase another clock, and it won't be a Timex.
