IF you have a wireless modem/router and yous wish to hook up your xbox 360 into it, you need to purchase a wireless networking adapter for the Xbox 360 because the Xbox does not come with a built in wireless card. Once you have that accessory you can configure the wireless network in your console.

If other devices can connect once your son is off then it might not be a problem with a router. Try connecting the xbox VIA WI-FI. If the problem persits i would contact your ISP.

I just subscribed to wireless internet, what does my son need to hook up his xbox wireless

Hi,
Your son will need a long enough ethernet cable to run from the router to the console,or a wireless xbox adapter, these in the uk cost about £45 they are prone to lagging if the console is too far away from your wireless router, I would recommend buying 2 comtrend powerline adapters, about £30 off ebay, they use your existing power cables that run through your house, so no infuriating lag.
Hope this helps.

My wireless computer will not work while son uses xbox live

It seems as if somehow you assigned the 360 to the same IP address as your wireless router. On any of the devices attempt to release the current IP and grab a new one.

I have a wireless router hooked to my computer & my son recently got a wireless-G USB adapter so that he can play his xbox 360 online. Will this work, or will we have to put the router on the xbox...

XBOX 360 will only work properly with a 'genuine' USB WIFI adapter designed specifically for it (and at an over inflated price IMO!).
One popular way to play 'network' via the internet is to connect the XBOX 360 to your PC via Ethernet cable and have the PC connecting to the internet either via another ethernet connection or more likely via a Wifi connection which could be via your USB adapter connected to your PC and talking to your Wifi Router)

How do i join xbox live i dont know howtoget internet on xbox live can you help?

You need to sign up through your xbox or by calling 1-800-4-My-Xbox. You need your xbox to be connected to the internet either by plugging in the network jack in the back of the console, or buying a wireless network adapter and hooking it up to your local wireless network.

Thanks
Tim

We have wireless internet using Netgear router.... we are trying to connect xbox to the internet using this router, but cannot recognise IP address, how can we set this up?

There are so many possible steps to take to do this..

First, make sure your wireless network is working, and a computer can use it to get on the internet..

Then , if you want to hook the xbox up wirelessly, you will need the wireless adapter made especially for the xbox..

) or you will need to hook the xbox up by an ethernet cable (

Then, check out this link, about halfway down the page is an in depth guide on how to hook the xbox up wirelessly..

Cannot get wireless router to work with Xbox 360

Does the westell router only have 1 ethernet port, if so a ethernet hub would be better, they can be baught for about £10.
You will need to input your account settings for your broadband conection into your new router for it to work, with this router all you actually need to do is connect it to the 360 with an ethernet cable, if you want to use it wirelessly you need to buy a wireless adapter for the 360 for about £30 - £60 depending where you buy it.

Hook up wireless network to play xbox 360 online.

Hey Lil Man23,

There are two things that you'll need in order to connect your Xbox 360 to the internet wirelessly: a wireless router and a wireless network adaptor. While both of these may often be obtained through an internet service provider (ISP), you can generally purchase both hardware devices from a local retail store.

In order to connect to the internet, your Xbox 360 will need to be set up in what is referred to as "infrastructure mode." This essentially means that your Xbox 360 will be set to connect to a single access point (the wireless router) in order to access the internet. If you're not quite sure how to do this, you should be able to find step-by-step instructions on how to do so in your owner's manual, or by using Microsoft's Xbox 360 Connectivity Wizard:

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/connecttolive/xbox360/connectionmethods/webconnectivitywizard.htm

If you're still not quite sure how to proceed, I would strongly suggest contacting your ISP for further assistance. Many ISP's are able to provide home networking services for their subscribers, but remember that there may be a charge for any in-home services provided by your ISP or any third-party company.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
