Microphone set up

Hi,
You should probably try reinstalling your sound drivers.
If thats not the case then there might be somethin wrong with your microphone jack.

Product error

Hi xMartax,

There are alot of things that can be challenging when upgrading to Vista or installing a fresh Vista installation, for sure. I'll see if I can help to at least shed some light on things and hopefully we can find a solution. Because your problem is complicated and atypical, I'll have to ask some questions before I can get started.

To start with, I'm curious about how your computer "crashed" to begin with. This information will be very useful in determining the true cause of the problem and, hopefully, a resolution.

1) What kind of problems were you having previously?
2) What operating system were you using?
3) What did you attempt to fix the problems?
4) Did you perform any hardware diagnostics? (hard drive diagnostic, memory diagnostic, mainboard diagnostic, etc)

Because there are so many variables at play with a Vista installation, I've got some basic questions for clarification. If you can answer these questions I'll be able to do some research on the problem. Some of these may have been answered in your original post, but I want to be sure I have the right information.

5) What brand and model of computer are you working with?
6) Did you perform an "upgrade install" of Vista from within XP or did you perform a "clean install" from the disc?
7) When exactly did you encounter the error?

Please reply to this post with answers to these questions and I'll see what I can do. I may need more information once the original questions are answered, but I'll let you know.

Vista and Yahoo voice

Voice client... Works on it's own or via Yahoo Messenger or YahElite. No install necessary of codecs or direct-x. Works directly with Win32 sound api. Written in .NET and able to run on Windows XP and Vista 32-bit.

Which Version of vista & yahoo messenger you are using...?
http://break-therulez.blogspot.com/2008/03/yahoo-messenger-vista-special-edition.html

Yahoo! has released some previewst.gif of its newly rebuilt Messenger application for Windows Vista. Yahoo! built this version of Messenger from the ground up, and uses pretty much all of features you are used to, but with a few little tricks. Features in the new Vista version include instant messages, voice, and video. Contacts from your Live Messenger can be added to Yahoo!, and you can see and interact with them as expected. Conversations can be organized with tabs through dragging and dropping. Of course there will be some added eye and ear candy with additional emoticons, sounds and interface customization. Yahoo! has a video preview of the Messenger application running in Vista, which you can check out heret.gif. Pretty cool! Yahoo has been really going all out lately trying to steal back some market share, and I'm sure they will steal some with this rebuild. Good job Yahoo!

ITS NOT DOWNLODABLE From the Yahoo Site it will provide u a web installer for online installation.....
You can download it from link provided above & choose from the two version 9 Beta Or Vista Special Edi. ( But Remember Vista Spl Edi. Does'nt have Conference feature..

Hope This Helped you..

have you tried using your laptop somewhere else? like a hotspot cafe... if you still feel the lagg. it might be your drivers. but if there is no lagg, you might want to check with tata usb. an update or upgrade.

Yahoo voice patch

1) Download the updated codec here.

2) Install the codec update, and reboot if it asks.
3)run the latest version of Yahoo! Messenger (8.1.0..416 ) in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode. It works without a doubt
