Because your digital controls appear to be confused I think the electronic module behind the temp control is defective. The part number for your control board is 12868513
You can enter the model number JFC2087HRP in model and parts search feature at the link below. You may want to unplug refrigerator and examine the part for burn marks or other signs of damage. Let me know what you find, Thanks Sea Breeze

SOURCE: Compressor stop running on Kenmore

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly

Is the compressor HOT to the touch? If so unplug the unit for at least 30 minutes and plug it back in.
If the compresor is cold then it may be stuck in the auto defrosting mode. When this happens usually either the 60 Deg F Bi-metal thermosat or a thermistor has failed. Items 30 and 31 this link: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-elite-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-59675523400/0583/0161000/M0705003/00010?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=

(Evaporator

If that checks out then we start replacing the PTC relay and thermal overload on the compressor IF there is power to the compressor. Otherwise we start looking at temp controllers and themal fuses.
Items 10 and 11 this link:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-elite-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-59675523400/0583/0161000/M0705003/00011?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=

You make have to access the links above via this page http://www.searspartsdirect.com
Then enter your model number as 596.75523400 under find it fast / model search.

The other possibility is the electronic control item 5 under "controls":

The only way to find out is to read out the circuits with a meter.

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore model

Hi,

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP
AGAINST THE FILL RESERVOIR CAUSING A PARTIAL BLOCKAGE
OR BECOME CLOGGED WITH ICE.
REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK
TEMP IN FREEZER. IF TEMP IS BELOW 0 DEGREES, THATS
OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

2005 Saturn relay is overheating the fans do not turn on. I checked fuses relays and when I turn on the air conditioner they run on low speed

Have the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's if you haven't already . The vehicle has two cooling fans an three control relay's that are energized by the PCM - engine computer . Coolant temp sensor tell's the PCM engine temp.
Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? Free one's here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb Enter vehicle info. year make , model an engine . Under system click on engine ,then under subsystem click on cooling fans . Click the search button then the blue link. Watch this video.
Relay Driven Dual Cooling Fan Diagnostics

Also ,what are you going by to say it's overheating ? Temp gauge in the instrument cluster ? GM had problems with Stepper motors inside the instrument cluster . 2003 - 2006 . Hooking up a scan tool that can view data would show what the coolant temp sensor is tell the PCM .

Using a infered temp
infered temp.-iyt4esw4bjav4jkg3wd2waqn-3-0.jpeg This would show the real temp of the engine.

DTC P0480 or P0481
Battery positive voltage is supplied to the cooling fan 1 relay from the COOL FAN #1 fuse. The powertrain control module (PCM) controls the cooling fan 1 relay by grounding the low speed cooling fan relay control circuit via an internal solid state device called a driver.
Battery positive voltage is supplied to the cooling fan 2 relay and the cooling fan 3 relay from the COOL FAN #2 fuse. The PCM controls the relays by grounding the high speed cooling fan relay control circuit.
When the PCM is commanding a relay on, the voltage potential of the control circuit should be low, near 0 volts. When the PCM is commanding the control circuit to a relay, the voltage potential of the circuit should be high, near battery voltage. If the fault detection circuit senses a voltage other than what is expected, the DTC will set.
The PCM will monitor the control circuit for the following conditions:
• A short to ground
• A short to voltage
• An open circuit
• An open relay coil
• An internally shorted or excessively low resistance relay coil
When the PCM detects any of the above conditions, the DTC will set and the affected driver will be disabled.

I would say the instrument cluster is probably the problem . If the fans come on when A/C is turned on the system is working.

Auto Camry 97 cooling fan is not switching on automatically, the temp gauge shows normal temp. Also both AC and cooling fan works when AC is switched on?

If the temp gauge shows normal, you would not expect the fan to be on much. It is controlled by the coolant temp sensor. If the fan will not come on when the car gets really hot, it is possible this sensor has failed.

It is normal for both AC and cooling fans to be on when you turn on AC to cool setting.

I have a white Rodgers ac thermostat and the temperature in my apartment stays on 88 no matter how low I set the temp. If I turn it off, of course it gets even hotter. This started happening when I pressed...

I'm not quite sure I understand what you have done but, make sure your compresor(outside is running and, that you don't have the thermostat set to "fan". You want the display to show "cool" and then adjust your temp. It sounds like you have the system set to fan and not cool. Provide me with a model number and I will see about getting you a manual.

Display shows "cool ** " I have never noticed two

the issue is most likely not with the thermostat, set the temp down to 65 degrees and listen for a click at the thermostat (it may not make any sound). go outside where the condensor fan is and look to see if the fan is spinning. if it is then the thermostat is probably ok. If you still are not getting anycool air and just warm air pumping out you may need to have someonne come and check the coolant level in your system. It may just need a recharge, but if you have lost coolant there may be a leak in your system. Alll that being said, you may need a licensed professional to come out and check your system

Where is the thermostat located in the main oven of my Creda Europa Solar oven. Thanks

Depends which thermostat you are referring to.
Thje main oven stat is on the control panel, and is marked with the temp, the sensor being located at the top rear of the oven compartment.
The other stats are located at the top of the oven outer casing under the the top cover. you need to remove oven from housing to access these.

I have had a GE Profile Artica Refer for 6 years and have nothing but problems. After 3 years, we had to have I think the mother board replaced because the refer would not cool....would run at 50 degrees...

The old style ice boxes used a mercury bulb switch that shut power on and off according to the desired temp. Not now brother. We decided that was not good enough so what brainiacs came up with were electronic monitoring. Sound familiar? A group of thermisters are placed around the icebox to monitor ambient temps. 177300d.jpgThese thermisters( thermostat resisters) change in resistance when temperatures change. The fancy control board relies on these suckers to give it good intel when to shut down cooling systems. You should consult your tech sheet to see if the ohms readings on each thermister is within 10% of specs.

Housesitting. RTH111B model. I cannot keep the

That is a NONprogramable T-stat. There is no program to overide, therefore there is no need for a "hold" option. To set the temp, place the switch on the side marked

COOL
OFF
HEAT

to the desired setting, and push the up down arrows on the front until the display shows 80.

The DISPLAY will revert back to the current room temperature within a few seconds, and will keep the unit on until it reaches the desired temp.

The set temperature remains at 80, it just shows the current room temp.
