In my 2nd hand delonghi EAM3500 there is an extra o-ring on the coupler between black and red o-rings. Is it a wrong part installed or just an old model. Milk frothing is also not working properly.

check for a hole between the green and black rings
if there is one it is used to separate materials like coffee, milk or hot water for the machine to operate properly

ESAM6600 will not froth milk

Use a really small screwdriver to carefully clean the white tube both from the front and the little hole underneath

I had frothing problem as mentioned above and noticed this tube was blocked, its 4 years I have had the Gran Dama 6600.

Cleaned as mentioned and did some purge as I went along, now it works as new. Its a maintenance that should be done once a year. You learn as things happen. LOL

Milk frothing problem on a Magnifica 3500

Had the same prolem replaced the coupling where the jug clips in. Item 111 - part number 5532123200 coupling. If your not technically experienced then you may need to take it to a service agent. Had to fairly well dismantle machine to complete repair.

I have a Delonghi EAM 4500 and it does not froth/Foam the mil, I have replaced the milk cover lid 3 times, still it works for a short time then stops.

remove the o rings where the milk frother connects to, there is a green, red and black rubber O ring. Remove them and get a toothpick and clean around where they sit. You will notice a hard milk build up like when you get on your teeth. This is what
tbirdfan1 says:
may be causing your problem the o-rings are not setting their properly

tbirdfan1 says:
here is some more information

tbirdfan1 says:
It turns out the electrical connection for the solenoid valve that feeds the hot water out into the milk jug/hot water tap had come loose. They are clipped on rather than being soldered into place. Trace the wires back to the main board from the sole

tbirdfan1 says:
from the solenoid (brass bit with grommets) and check that the clips are in place.

Aeroccino deosn't make froth

Our aeroccino worked fine for 2 years and suddenly it didn't made foam anymore. We tried the "inverting trick" without much success. We contacted Nespresso and they suggested switching from regular fresh milk (we used 2%) to UHT milk (harder to find in US) and to use it cold and freshly opened. So we tried that and it works.
Hope this solution works for you too

Aeroccino Overflows

As a Nespresso demonstrator I've had this question many times- use the black plastic wand for light foam- can use to max line. Using the wire whisk wand for heavy, cappacino foam and fill only to bottom line. This wand uses more aeration to achieve foam density- causing more pressure and your leaks. The wand stored inside the lid doesn't have anything to do with function of the aerrocino.

Milk not frothing

I purchased a unit second hand for my wife's birthday today. It's only 4 months old, got it home, tested it, same problem... No froth!

I've read all the posts here and all were very helpful troubleshooting guides however they did not solve the issue.

Understanding how the frothing mechanism functions is half the battle in figuring out the solution. It's a simple vacuum type system. No doubt you've read about checking the orings. This is definately the first thing to check however if this is not the reason then consider the following.

The larger of the white tubes that has the red and black oring inserts deep into its port on the tap. Why? It pushes steam past the milk pipe directly into the chrome frothing tube which causes a vacuum essentially drawing milk up it's hose creating the froth. What you can't see without further investigation is that on the underside of the tube centered between the red and black orings is a small hole. This hole is responsible for drawing the milk upwards. If this is blocked, and it probably is then no milk and no froth. Use a really small screwdriver to carefully clean the white tube both from the front and the little hole underneath.

So in conclusion. Any air leak between the red and black orings will prevent the vacuum required to draw milk up the tube and alternatively any blockage of the milk channel will also obviously prevent the flow into the frothing mechanism. Hope this helps.
