Question about Neff R4381 Electric Commercial Dryer

Empty water resevoir light keeps coming on

Enr R4381X1GB/04 fd 8404 200198 I have an intergrated Neff tumble dryer that is vented through the wall. It is not heating up and keeps beeping and telling me that the water resevoir needs emptying but it has no water in it. I opened up the bottom section and found water at the back of the machine right at the bottom and mopped it out with cloths. Can anyone help please? Thanks Lisa Fox

Hi Lisa,
Sorry, this isn't a solution! I've been investigating my wife's dryer which is the same model with the same fault exactly, by symptoms. An electrician friend has also taken the back off and suspects that the heater element has burnt out, but I don't see how that links to the fault as originally seen. Did you find an answer by other means or did you have to replace the unit - in which case did you manage to find a suitable model? Ours needss to take the kitchen cabinet door fittings, but I'm told John Lewis aren't doing this model any more.

The tumble dryer bip and flash "empty water" even if no water. I have cleaned every filter (2 inside the big filter at the bottom of the tumble dryer) but still have the trouble

Hi,

I want to first make sure that your dryer is serviced up. so i want you to do these steps.
Most of the problems will be resolved doing these......

As clothes are tumble dried, they drop fibres. Most of this fluff is trapped by the lint filter and this needs to be checked and cleaned regularly. Lint also builds up in the vent pipe and around the electric motor in the rear of the dryer.

1.clean lint filter
989c696.jpg
Wait until the dryer cools, open the door and lift out the lint filter.
Gently brush off lint using your fingers.
On many models, the filter may also be washed. Check your manual for instructions.
If the filter is damaged in any way, you should replace it.

2.Vacuum area where lint filter sits:

The area where the lint filter sits should be vacuumed .
Remove the lint filter, and use a narrow vacuum nozzle to remove dust and lint from the fitting.

3.Clean inside the tumble dryer:

1. Make sure the dryer is cool, switch it off and unplug it.
2. Unscrew the retaining screws on the back panel, and lift it off. Vacuum the blower area.
3. Also vacuum around the vent pipe connection.
4. Replace the back panel and refit all the screws.

4.Check tumble dryer vent hose:
8d2299a.jpgWait for the dryer to cool. Unplug the vent hose and inspect its entire length for snags in the pipe.
Make sure the vent is not obstructed on the outside wall, and fit a flap or screen to keep out small animals.
If your vent pipe is punctured or damaged, you should replace it.

To avoid dryer problems,
Make sure the dryer is level and does not rock, and consult the manufacturer's instructions for the maximum weight of clothing to dry at one time. Also, make sure clothes have been spun-dry before putting them into the dryer.

This is just initial help,
Post your comments about how things turned up, Ill be giving suggestions based on your reply........

Thanx for using fixya,
Cheers.

How do I find the product code for my Neff dishwasher - it's built into the kitchen snd I need to buy a new wheel

Hello,

You will find the Enr. and Fd. numbers on the top inside edge of the stainless in the centre near the door switch. It is etched into the stainless and it can be difficult to see in certain lights or the angle you look at it but it is there.

Hope this helps.

How do you remove the front panel of the neff R4381X1GB dryer?

on the right handside, there is a button that sticks out, press it down. If filter is heavily blocked, you will need to pull the panel a bit to dislodge it but the latch for the front panel is the button on the right handside.

Hi.
Make sure the fluff filter and water tray are clean and empty.
Also make sure it is on High heat setting, and set the correct time.

Bosch tumble dryer

I've sorted mine this morning. First, disconnect from the mains - VERY important! Pull out the metal condenser unit at the bottom, and behind it, there's a small hatch in the bottom to the reservoir. This can get gunked up with water, and is very difficult to clean - HOWEVER - I've found a really easy way of cleaning it. I've got a VAX carpet washer with a hose attachment, and I simply sucked all the water out using that. If you don't own a carpet cleaner maybe borrow one. I did this this morning, and my tumble-dryer's still running happily after an hour! It is possible to clean it out without vacuum, but it takes a LOT longer, and the vacuum of the cleaner pulls out gunk that is hard to access. Another place where gunk collects is behind that hatch right at the back - there's a tube up to the right. I pulled out quite a long chunk of lint. However, that wasn't the solution on it's own, I still had to clean out the reservoir as above.
