My Toshiba M55-S3314 can detect wi-fi but cannot connect.

If your laptop has a software that manages your wireless connection, uninstall it. Then go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center, then click on Manage Wireless Connections then remove all wireless networks that are saved there then restart your computer then try to connect again to the wireless network.

Hope that solves the problem. =)

This is not a problem. Wireless connections sometimes tend to be inconsistent. Try closing the distance between your laptop and the wireless network adapter.

Resetting the adapter

Use the computer you are on to download the updated driver for the network adapter from the Toshiba Website. After you have the updated driver install it on the computer your having a problem on. Reboot the computer. If the problem is still there and you have a cable connected to the network connection and to the router, uninstall the network adapter from the device manager and reboot the computer. That should detect and install the adapter and resolve the problem. If it doesn't there is a problem with the network adapter and you will need to use the wireless of get a PCMCIA card to use for networking. Toshiba does use a replaceable Network card in some laptops, if nothing else above works and you don't want to get another card to plug in you may want to look into purchasing a new card from Toshiba to replace the old one.

Cannot connect to internet although connected to hub at full strength

Assuming this is like a home network you should try unplugging the power to your wireless router for 5 seconds and then plug it back in. Sometimes your wireless router can have a problem handing out IP addresses correctly.

If it still doesn't work then try connecting to a different network, if it has a problem connecting to multiple networks then you probably have a hardware problem. You can call Toshiba at 1-800-457-7777 or lookup your local ASP at for help.

Hi there, the only reason it doesn't work it's because the wireless key is not correct. It usually shows limited connectivity when the wireless key is not correct. Even just a letter upper or lower case will cause the problem. Since you are connected with the other computer go under the Router settings and double check the wireless key. Check what kind of encryption the router is using, make sure your wireless adapter can support it.

My wirless signal keep connecting and disconnecting. It will not hold the connection for more that 5 seconds...what should I do

I used to have this same problem...The internet lady told me that some routers will not cooperate through the computer on their network. Mine would last a little longer than 5 seconds, but still the same thing. So basically she told me that I wasted 80 bucks on a router, and I had to upgrade to their wireless network.

Toshiba Tercra 8200 have a buildin network connection, and a buildin wirless. You don't need additional hardware, just connect the cable from the modem to the 8 pin port in the rear for wired, and if you want ot use the wireless then please post your queation back on the thread.
