Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Thanks for your proposed solution of 15 March. You say it is because of the paper size .I use A4 paper which exactly fits the glass panel of the scanner. I would have thought that it was the correct size.A3 would leave large spaces round the edges. Are you recommending that I use this smaller size to avoid blackening at the far end. In which case this would eliminate all documents because they are all A4. Graham Watt

A4 is the smaller size ...than A3 ..the digit in the name cames for the number of folding upon a standard size sheet ..if it fits in the scaner will scan it without problems ..You can actually make some trials to see what is the edge maximum ..and so ..but it will work for A4 normal document with no problems ...If you have issues with the edges..use the menu to make adjustments ...also you can use the preview when you choose to scan and save in PDF..and if the maximum size is A3 this means that it should fit 2 A4 documents at once ..and you can even save them separately by choosing the area in select and save (in the software into the computer ..)
so ..the black edges issue probably came cause the document was too small and the sheet chosen in the program was for A3....When you scan the scanner manager ..and preview the job ..and enlarge or reduce the size of the frame that shows under the document ..this way you avoid black edges and stuff...and Like I said if it fits a A3 map size document will scan 2 A4 at once if you choose the right settings .
I suggest to consult the manual for precise information in this matter .
there it is explained exactly how to operate it ..

Can I scan legal size paper with the Canon MP 240

You can scan the largest size of paper that will fit on the glass area of the scanner (the platten).

If your legal paper fits in this area or, at least the text printed on it fits well within the borders of platten, then you can scan it.

Your scan will show you a preview of the image scanned so you can see if all the text has been scanned from the original document before you save the scanned image on the computer or copy print it.

Legal Paper Size is: 8.5" x 14" (216mm x 356mm)

A4 Paper Size is: 210mm x 297mm

Letter Paper Size is: (8.5" x 11") 216mm X 279mm

This printer's Scanning Width is: A4/Letter

This printer's Scanning Length is: A4/Letter

I hope this helps.

On my Laserjet 3015, in Microsoft Word, if I set top, bottom, left, and right margins to 1", on the printed page, the margins print as Top 1", Left 15/16", Right 1-1/8", and Bottom...

The default paper selection/ size in MS Word is 'letter'. you may have designed the document on letter size and while printing you have A4 size paper in the printer.
So, Make sure that you design the document on the same paper size (such as A4, which is commonly used). Secondly, while printing don't print the document directly. From the Print dialogue option choose the exact paper size and un-check (de-select) any option of paper resizing (if available). You will have the documents printed exactly as designed.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

My canon ir 2018 is asking me to load correct paper in the tray even when the paper size is correct and all the settings are correct. It would print one copy then ask to load paper, i pull out the tray and...

Check the proper orientation of the paper. For example, if you are loading A4 size. In your tray you can find 2 A4 size. Select A4R in you want to position your paper Landscape or A4 if portrait.
To verify also the correct paper size, put your paper on the platen glass. Markings on the two sides of the platen glass shows the correct paper size.

Hello sir, how to take print on A4 page? please help me

Hi The A4 paper size is an internationally used paper format. Although not often used in America, it is by far the most commonly and widely circulated paper size. At 8 1/4 inches by 11 3/4 inches, it is similar though not quite identical to the American standard U.S. letter size, which is 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches. Because of its ubiquity, all printers and programs have the ability to handle the size, and getting a printer to print to it is a matter of adjusting the settings.Put the A4 sized paper into the automatic feeder in the printer. You may have to adjust the tray guides to fit the paper in snugly. Close the tray firmly when finished.
  • Step 2.Set the printer to register the A4 sized paper inside the the tray. This varies from printer to printer but generally involves going into the print menu, scrolling to the automatic feeder and designating the tray as an A4 tray.Step 3.Select "File" and then "Page setup" in the program you are using.Step 4.lick on the drop down menumag-glass_10x10.gif next to paper size and choose "A4.Step 5.Select "File" and then "Print." Click the "Print Summary" button to ensure the file is set to print to the A4 size.
  • Step 6.Press "Print" to print the photograph.

Legal Sized 2-sided Copies through Automatic Feed

Does the copier print correctly when copying off the glass? I suspect that the document feeder has been set up to feed other paper sizes eg A4, A4R. Because of the conflict between sizes the copier adjust the image.

This machine will only print certain sizes as borderless. A5 is not one of them. You can use the following media with this feature: Matte Paper - Heavyweight: A4, Letter Premium Glossy Photo Paper:A4, Letter, 5 x 7", 10 x 15 cm/4 x 6", 8 x 10" Photo Paper:A4 Premium Semigloss Photo Paper:A4, Letter, 10 x 15 cm/4 x 6" Glossy Photo Paper:Letter, 10 x 15 cm/4 x 6" As you can see A5 is not in the list, therefor you will not be able to print A5 borderless via the normal means.
