Basically you need to prime the oil delivery system but as you have stated neither the make and model of boiler, nor that of the oil delivery system in use (in some boilers it all comes as an integrated system) then it's impossible to offer assistance.

While standing in front of the oil burner, on the left side you will see the fuel pump. On the bottom corner towards you, you will see a bleeder screw. If you put a cup or other vessel under this screw, loosen the screw, then hit the reset button it will start to push oil out the bleeder. Once the oil comes out a clear red liquid, close the bleeder screw and the unit should fire up. Hope this helps

Hi, my firebrid 115 wouldnt start tuedsay after running out of oil, had a deliverary of oil and my oil man bled the boiler as it had a air lock, the heating was working fine the rest of the day and a

He may have bled the lines but did he also bleed the fuel filter as well. All oil tanks have an oil filter in them, sometimes two. He could hav bleed the lines but still had some residual air in the line, the filter, or somewhere else along the supplu side. I"m sure if you call and explain the situation they will come and rebleed the rest of the air out of the system, especially if you're a regular customer. Also have them check the tank fuel filter, if it's clogged that too would keep oil from getting to the burners.

No running hot water in house.

These have a photoelectric eye , much the same as a motion sensor on an outside lamp, just pull this out, clean with a wet wipe, dry with a towel & replace, press the reset switch & your boiler should fire up producing lovely hot water

It sounds to me like you probably have a clogged oil nozzle. Of course I'm am assuming that you bleed all the air out of the oil lines that run both to the hot water tank and the heating appliance. If you have solid flow at the water heater pump, and the unit still does not ignite, it is most likely the nozzle. Hope this helps

AMTROL Boiler Mate - No hot water

Most likely either a bad controller (which is the little display you use to reset) or the temperature probe which is accessible on the underside of your tank. Sensor is a 2 wire probe in center of underside and easily replaced.

Oil fired boiler not firing up

Do you have an inducer on this unit? If you do, it could be the pressure switch not opening or closing properly. Also, check for any limit switches that might have tripped that you need to reset. Some limits are automatic reset and some are manual. Also, check for a reset switch on the unit that is used when the power gets cut un expectantly. You can do a little research on the unit also using the model number and brand of unit on-line to find a user manual that might have some trouble shooting guidelines.
