Are you asking about the correct product? No vacuum cleaner I've ever encountered needs a password.

Don't even bother to repair the pull chain switch, get a new one at KMart, HomeDepot or similar store for less than $2.
Two times I've repaired one, it comes apart when I need it the most.

Im trying to replace the belt but cannot find where to connect it

Vacuums are different.  Look for a small motor shaft within the belt's reach.

Hi In the UK we have similar machines but they are made by Vax. If you can't source the correct user manual from Hoover.com consider the following - it is a free download.
http://www.vax.co.uk/downloads/pdf/vzl-60156016_v2_(brushbar).pdf

The Vax Mach 5 and Hoover model you have are the same other than the name. Dont forget to rate, thanks.

Cracked hose for Bissell SpotBot

I found a site that carrys them, not sure if they are out because just as I was about to order one I decided to try and fix mine since the crack was right up next to the handle. http://www.svcvacuum.com/bissell/steamer_hose.htm
All I did was unscrew the two screws where the button is for releasing the water on the hand piece. I thin squeezed the clamp together to remove the water hose. Once that was removed I cut the hose and then PRYED out the part of the hose in the hand piece. I then cut the hose down where the crack was. Feed the "water hose" back through the hole in the handle (I heated it with a lighter just a tiny bit to make it soft and worked it through the hole which I just enlarged a slight bit) and with pliers work it back on. Don't forget the clamp. Next just work the outter hose back into the handle but make sure to use a glue or silicone sealer or both.
Even if you get a new hose Im not sure it will come with the handle. To connect the hose to the Machine part just push in that little plastic "dot" and pull out the hose at the same time. Then remove the old hose by the directions above. There is no need to remover the inner clear hose from the machine part, only the handle

Wand

Do you have a telescopic/height adjustable wand or just two tubes which have to be stuck together? If they are made of plastic well, it may well be broken. If its metal check that the tops aren't corroded or the handle itself isn't broken. If the tubes/wand isn't sliding up and down (i.e. if its height adjustable) then something has got stuck. Sadly for this kind of repair you'd be better off to buy replacement wands or consider something aftermarket on EBAY. Check the diameter of the tubes with a ruler. If it is 3.2cm (32mm) or 3.5cm (35mm) you can buy replacement tubes. If you can't afford that then try furniture polish on a J cloth or similar and with a stick wedge it inside the tube/wand so that it adds a little lubrication or simply a clog - it sounds like there is dirt clogged in the part that slides. Dont forget to rate, thanks.

Hi (dont forget to rate this please)
Go to hoover.com website here:

http://www.hoover.com/CustomerService/Manuals/Default.aspx

Paste in the model number: U9145900 and you should be able to find a user manual for this to save (opens in PDF)
