I am getting the fatal error chasis intruded error on every boot...motherboard model is p5sd2vm...rahul

Chassis intrusion can be disabled one of two ways.

First, Check your bios settings. There should be a security or PC health section where you can clear that error and disable the intrusion warning.

Second, there is likely a small switch near the chassis side when the side panel is removed. This is the chassis intrusion switch. It will likely lead to a 2 or 3-pin connection on the motherboard. this can be disconected without any ill effects.

P5v800-mx chassis intruded

You can actually disable the chassis intrusion warning from your motherboard BIOS setting.

This can also happen, even if there was no physical 'chassis intrusion' when your BIOS battery (button cell) is about to fail, or has reduced capacity.

This might need replacement. Another indicator that it needs replacing is if you have to set the system time, or any parameter for your mobo after an extended period that you don't use the PC.

Hope this is helpful.

Chassis Intruded!

Hey,

Go into bios or cmos setup. when you turn the computer on it says what you need to press to get in there, look over the bios, look for chassis intrusion detection, turn it off, then go back to the main screen save and exit.

you won't have the problem anymore.

Thanks and good luck.

Asus Board MOdel Number P4BGL (845 Mxl) is giving an error called Chasis opened or tampered.?

I read a solution of your problems, i did not ry this. But i want you to try in your motherboard: this was qoute by
" 9. anonobomber, 07-05-2002 09:51 read the manual from your motherboard, I'll quote it for you; Chassis Intrusion Lead (4-1 pin CHASSIS) This requires an external detection mechanism such as a chassis intrusion monitor/microswitch. The sensor is triggered when a high level signal is sent to the Chassis Signal Lead, which occurs when a panel or light detector is triggered. This function works with an optional ASUS CIDB chassis intrusion module (see your vendor for more details). If the chassis intrusion lead is not used, a jumper cap must be placed over the pins to close the circuit.
pinout 1[+5volt] [power supply standby] [chassis signal] [ground]
in order to supress the messages you are getting you will need to get a jumper to fit over the chassis signal and ground to bypass the chassis intrusion detection circuit.
This has nothing to do with resetting the CMOS. For board specific locations of the pins check http://www.asus.com.tw for the manual pertaining to your motherboard"

Intrusion turned off and not detected

If you're refering to the chassis intrusion... (Which is what I'm assuming.)

There should be a switch in the case itself that release itself when you open the case. Make sure that it is properly placed and angled and that it is connected to the appropriate pins on the motherboard. (Often labeled "CH INTR" or something to that effect.)

There is also usually a function in the motherboard's BIOS that enables/disables the chassis intrusion alert. Check to make sure that the function is enabled in the BIOS. (Don't forget to save your settings!)

There may also be a jumper on the motherboard that enables/disables the chassis intrusion detection. (Although this is less common.) Check around for that if the other options aren't making themselves apparent to you.

Good luck with that. Hope I was on the right topic. :P
