You do not need to install a driver on Vista. It will detect the camera automatically, but the camera will be detected as "USB Mass Storage Device".

I cannot transfer pics to my computer windows 7

I have researched with your model and found that drivers are not available from the manufacturer. However, most of the Still cameras do not require driver or software to transfer images now a days.

Once you connect the Camera to the computer, you will get the Camera as a removable drive under My Computer. You can open the removable drive to see the pictures stored in the Camera/Memory Card.

If the Operating System installed in your Computer still needs a driver, you may use the Memory Card slot on the Computer to transfer the pictures. Please follow the steps to transfer pictures using Memory Card Reader in the Computer:

- Remove the Memory Card from the Camera.

- Insert it in the Memory Card slot in the Computer.

- Open the pop up window or find out the removable drive under My Computer.

- Copy the required files to a folder in the Computer.

Note : Most of the Notebooks comes with its own Memory Card Slot. If it does not, you may get one from the market without much spending.

Thanks for understanding.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Need a free download for my sony cyber shot dsc-w55 to download pictures on my computer

You do not need any Driver or Software to transfer the images from the Camera to the Computer.

1. Set the USB Connection or Transfer mode setting in the Camera menu to Mass Storage or Normal .

2. Connect the Camera to the Computer using the supplied USB cable or any USB cable.

3. The Computer will recognize the Camera (make sure that the recording media containing the pictures (Memory Stick) is inserted in the Camera).

4. Click the Start button and then click the "My Computer" icon (for XP Operating System and for Vista or Windows 7 it will be "Computer" icon).

5. In the "My Computer" or "Computer" window, click the icon that represents the Camera.

6. Click the "DCIM" folder and drag it to the desktop screen of the Computer to transfer the images from the Camera to the Computer.

However, you may download the supplied Picture Motion Browser software for the Camera from this Link.

I have a Sony DSC-S650 Cyber Shot and I can't downlaod my pictures on our new LapTop, which runs Windows Vista Premium. I've downloaded the camera onto the LapTop and when I go to get my pics it says there...

You can download the drivers from the CD that came with the camera, or download the drivers from Sony's web site at www.sony.com, click support or downloads. You'll need the exact model number of your camera.

I installed S3000 software for Windows XP on my Windows Vista. Now it won't run. I downloaded the driver fix for Vista but something is blocking the program from running - it says: Windows 4.1 has stopped...

Hi,
Sounds like a compatibility problem related to Vista.
If your pics are stored on a camera card then i recommend that you purchase a card reader/writer and pop the camera card in that to transfer the pics to the computer.
They are very cheap at around $2( £1) and you can get them anywhere from places like PC World, radio shack etc.

You will need to take the hard drive out of your computer and connect it to someone else's computer as a second drive so that you can pull the files off before reinstalling Windows.
