Question about Computers & Internet

Toshiba NB100 hey i reallly really need help. i posted my problem but i accidentally exited the screen and i forgot what i wrote but here goes nothing. you see, i have recently bought a toshiba NB100 netbook and its been acting really wierd for the past 3 months and i dont know what to do. heres the problem: i would turn it on and a blue screen pops up for 2 seconds and it automatically shuts off and then it redirects me to the same blue screen for 2 second and then shuts off, this is repeated several times before i decide that ive had enough and shut it off myself and not touch it for a couple of hours.. ive tried this for the past couple of months and it still does the exact same thing today however, i turned it on and a grey screen came up giving me options on how to start my computer and i chose ''start windows normally'' but guess what? the same blue screen came up, the it shuts off, redirects me to the same grey screen and does the same thing. i tried pressing on other options hoping that a different outcome would occur however the same thing happens. im really sick and tired of it and i dont want to take it to a so-called ''expert'' because last time i did they ripped me off and made it look like it was my fault, therefore i want to try and fix the problem myself. if anyone here knows weather my problem shows PHYSICAL damage to my laptop or anything that cant be fixed, could you please let me know? if anyone here thinks that my problem can be solved with the right CD's or whatever, could you also tell me? and when you do, could you please specify which CD's i should buy? please reply as soon as possibleeee i need helpp

Hi there. If you already tried using other options from the windows advanced option and nothing works then you laready have a corrupted Operating system. Your hardware is okay but you just can't boot to windows since it's corrupted.

You may re-install the operating system using the recovery cds that came with the machine.

Access the Quick boot menu by pressing F12 the moment you see Toshiba Logo then insert the Operating System recovery cd. Use the up or down arrow keys to select DVD/CDRW, press Enter and keep tapping the spacebar until you see windows is loading files. If your OS (operating system) is a Vista, you will see Windows set-up EMS enabled hig-lighted... press Enter and you'll see "Windows is loading files".

If you're re-installing windows XP, just follow the instruction on the blue screen.

If you're re0installing Vista, get back to me so I can give you further instructions.

^_^

My Toshiba Satellite A105 was accidentally dropped on the floor. When I turned it on and after choosing "HDD" from the Boot Menu, the screen would display this: PXE-E61: Media Test Failure,...

Sorry but Unfortunately Hard drives (HDD) are very susceptible to physical shocks and can be damaged that way. It may be possible to take it to a repair center to see if they can salvage some of you data but their are no guarantees.

When I click on letters Z, X, C, V and M it doesn't shows on my screen.. What will I do?

The most likely problem is that your keys have worn out. Replacing the keyboard with a used one from eBay would be the easiest and cheapest solution. Some laptop keyboards can be easily changed by the user (they just unclip from the top side) but some may require moderate dis-assembly of the laptop. If you could post a photo of the area of the top row of keys and surrounding plastic, I can tell which you have.

Install WinXP from USB in Toshiba NB100

Depending upon your CMOS you will get the option of going to CMOS setup by pressing a particular key. I don't know yours wether it is Del key or Alt plus F12 or something else just look closely for it on the first black startup screen. Once you are inside your CMOS setup just go to the Advanced chipset settings and select first boot device as your USB. Now your main worry is which USB you are connecting your pen drive to. So if in CMOS you get many USB options then select one of any and keep on changing till you get the line boot through usb or boot through external media. Also keep in mind boot through other devices shall be enabled. Now save the settings and exit. If you require any further assistance just ask for it.
Thankyou for using free utlity at fixya.
