Connect the camera to the PC using the USB cable which should have come with the camera (part PZ-04832-100) .

If XP is configured with the defaults, as soon as you turn on the camera, a window should pop-up stating what you want to do with the newly found block device. If you choose, "Open folder", you'll be able to browse the memory until you get to the picture folder; at that point, just drag and drop, e.g., on your desktop (you may also drag the whole picture folder).

If nothing happens, check "My Computer" and verify that a new disk has appeared, possibly labeled E: or F:; double click on it and do as above.

Otherwise, you can purchase a XD card reader (possibly your computer already has one built-in; check) and take out the memory from the camera, plug it in the PC, and go. You will find instructions here:

I dont think a manual will help .. but you can find one on the support page .. if you used a mac before .. this is a matter of reading about and familiarize yourself with windows OS .. no matter which one ..cause they are about the same ..
All the rest .. are just choices you can make for installing programs and what ever you need.. and most are free for download on the internet ..
If you need them .. just let me know and i will link for some basic ones.. like players ..instant messaging .. photo editors..and such ..
here is the link for the manual for it ..
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=1817059&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
Just go on the link .. and select the manual ..and download it .. You will need adobe reader to be installed for to be able to read the PDF file ..
here is the program in case you do not have it
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/PDF/Adobe-Reader.shtml
just download ..look for it in the download folder (my doc) ..and double click to run the installing ..follow instructions .
after that just download the manual and will work ..
here is a how to guide for xp

RECOVER PHOTOS FROM SAMSUNG TL105

First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.
Download this camera photo recovery software called asoftech photo recovery that helped me before
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

Hello

OK, usually one does not need software to perform this task. At the link below you will be directed to a page which will give you step by step instructions on how to transfer photos from your camera to your computer without the use of third party software.

Feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Panasonic software is loaded. Drivers are up to date. Nothing else is running on the computer (that i know of) but the videos won't download. Got any thoughts?

I ran into this same problem today. Don't know if this will help, but here is what I found:

Video Cam Suite is NOT compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 3. Instead, I had to go into "My Computer," choose the video camera, which is treated as a separate drive, and copy everything to my computer's hard drive.

I found another work-around in which I used Windows Live Photo Gallery (part of the Windows Live download that comes with a very good e-mail program).

In Windows Live Photo Gallery, I chose FILE->Import from camera or scanner and followed the prompts. Nothing else I tried worked. Pinnacle Studio wouldn't do it, and Nero crashed.

Hope this helps.

Pictures on my digital camera.Cant transfer them to the computer

I'm not sure you need any software to actually view camera pictures on xp, though there are many programs made for managing and embellishing pictures once you get them loaded into your computer's memory. Please go to this link for a general exposition of xp digital camera use.
Then connect your camera to your computer, and follow these instructions to download the photos into a file somewhere. (Maybe you want to create a folder in your My Pictures folder entitled Canon photos or something like that, just to keep them straight.) If you don't get an option to open the camera wizard, you can start it manually by going
to control panel>scanners and cameras>add a camera and the wizard should find your camera plugged in and start the download process...you can browse to the folder you created to have it store your photos there, or use the default. Once they're downloaded, you can access your photos using windows explorer.
But there are also a couple of great image viewer available as freeware: I can recommend both FastStone Image Viewer available here and Irfan View (available here)
Have fun, and don't worry about that red eye!

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Hello,

Here's a good resource for getting started on Windows XP.

http://www.amazon.com/Absolute-Beginners-Guide-Windows-2nd/dp/078973432X

You can purchase it from Amazon.com, or you can probably find it at a local bookstore.

This book is for Windows XP - make sure that is what is currently installed on your computer. If you bought your computer within the last year or two, there is a chance it may have Windows Vista instead. If that is the case, please let me know and I will notify you of a different book for getting started on Windows Vista.

By connecting the camera to a computer with the provided USB cable,
images on a card can be transferred to the computer. Some OS's (operating
systems) may need a special setup when connecting to the camera for the
first time. Follow the chart below. For details on the procedures in the chart,
refer to the “Reference Manual” on the CD-ROM and the “Software
Installation Guide” (included in the CD-ROM package).
Identifying the OS
Windows 98/98 SE
(Second Edition)
Windows 2000
Professional/Me/XP
Mac OS 9.0 - 9.1/OS X
*OS 8.6: See below.

Connecting the camera to a computer using the provided USB cable
Installing the USB
driver for Windows 98
Confirming the computer recognizes the camera
Downloading image files
Disconnecting the USB cable

Even if your computer has a USB connector, data transfer may not function correctly if
you are using one of the operating systems listed below or if you have an add-on USB
connector (extension card, etc.).
● Windows 95/NT 4.0
● Windows 98/98 SE upgrade from Windows 95
● Mac OS 8.6 or lower (except Mac OS 8.6 equipped with USB MASS Storage support
1.3.5 installed at the factory)
● Data transfer is not guaranteed on a home-built PC system or PCs with no factory
installed OS.
You can view images using: graphics applications that support the JPEG
file format (Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, etc.); Internet browsers (Netscape
Communicator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, etc.); CAMEDIA Master
software; or other software. For details on using commercial graphics
applications, refer to their instruction manuals.
