First you need music to put on the CD. You can put your own music CD in the drive and run Windows Media Player and rip them to your hard drive (copies them). After you get all the songs you want onto your hard drive, you can make an audio CD if you ripped the songs as WAV files (this CD can be played in most CD players) or you can make an MP3 CD if you ripped the songs as mp3 files (this CD can only be played in CD players that support the MP3 standard). To make the audio CD or MP3 CD, just download the free program called BurnAware from the internet and run it. Insert a blank recordable CD in your computer, choose Audio CD or MP3 CD, then choose the songs you want and burn the CD. That's it.

If You want to burn a cd you may try to install a 3rd party software... i may suggest you try Nero, when you're done installing it open it then follow these steps: for audio cd: 1. open the software 2. choose the audio cd on the left part 3. you can just drag the songs from the folder where you have stored the songs you intend to burn *be sure that the total minutes of the songs you will burn will not exceed the 80 minutes. 4. after you finished dragging the songs you like to burn click the burn icon which is found on the upper part of the window. 5. just click ok then wait.. 6. when the it's done burning, a message will pop confirming that you have successfully burned it..
* for mp3 cd 1. just choose cdrom 2. follow the steps 3-6 from the above,,
No problem. Just pop in a disc and in the windows media player there will be a tab that says burn. Just select the songs you want to copy and on the side it will tell you how much room you have on the disc. Usually you can put between 17-20 songs on one disc. When you are ready to copy, just hit burn and it will copy the songs onto the disc. During this time you can even listen to other music while it is doing that. Hope this helps. Oh also make sure your burner is set to record...to make sure this function is enabled right click on your cd-drive icon in My Computer. Click Properties. Find the box that says enable write recording and make sure it is checked otherwise you will not be able to burn any cd's. You only have to do this once. The computer will remember your settings each time you log on. Cheers.
try to burn at a slower speed, turn off the screen saver and virus scanner? if these try to run while a burn is going it can cause an error, try to defrag the hardrive if needed before the burn, try another brand of media , check for software updates on the burning software
Ok try this DO NOT insert the media until you have completed ya assembly... then tell it to "Burn" it will then ask for the media.. at this point insert ya CD... it should be "Detected" and ya Burn should proceed.I have had this work for me before.
Also try Alcohol 120% thats a great Burner. As well as CopytoDVD...
