Has this card worked in the past, or is a new card? If new, how big is it? The S1 uses SD cards. Cards bigger than 2GB are technically SDHC cards, and they will not work in SD devices.

If it is an SD card, what happens when you try to format it?

Does a different card work in the camera?

How do i upload pictures from my nikon coolpix s1

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Nikon Coolpix S1 won't read card.

I am confused. If you can FORMAT the SD card when it is in the camera (FORMAT is successful) you SHOULD be able to use it.

Memory Problem

Get a card reader. Your card will be shown as a drive. Right-click and format. Then put it back into the camera and see if it works. You should get a card reader for about 8$

Nikon $1 rarely used

Most propably, the card needs to be formatted externally. Put it in a external card reader, format card and try again, have you tried any other cards? Might be that your card is not functioning the way it should.

Nikon Coolpix L15 - save picture to photo card

I assume you mean transfer from internal memory to card?
This is on the menu system - simple scroll through the menus to find transfer.
Also the MANUAL[Handbook] will tell you.
no book - look on the software disk it is there as a PDF file that can be read/printed.

Nikon Coolpix S1 - Need help.

This is a common, but unfortunately fatal problem with this model camera. Don't worry, your photos (if taken on the sd card) are all still safe and sound. Just transfer your photos to your computer.

There is nothing you can do that I know of to fix this. But there is a guy (I call him, "the cheap camera repair man"), who fixes this problem for thirty dollars. The website URL for him is:

http://www.dynamiccamera.com

I hope this helps!
