For the cq60-215dx has a DC input that actually has a harness to it, so essentially strip down your laptop which requires you to take literally everything off of the laptop, and replace it with a new DC input from Compaq when you replace it use gorrilla glue to secure it. The way it came from the factory was dumb and the holding spot for the input was shottly designed. If you have the part and know what your doing you can get the job done in under a hour, its a easy job good luck.

This is common for laptops that have been subject to heavy use. Most likely, you will need to have a new plug soldered on to replace the old one. If you are not comfortable soldering on a plug yourself, try taking it to a local electronics shop.

My dell laptop isn't charging when plugged in. What should i do?

Dell chargers have a centre pin to allow the laptop to sense that the charger is a genuine Dell one. If the battery is not charging then:

a) Battery is faulty (old and dead)
b) Pin missing on the charger, wire broken or not original Dell device
c) Charging port on the laptop has become loose.

Hope this helps.

Gateway laptop died. Several times it appeared to reboot only to go black and go off. No fan or lights. How can I fix this myself?

does it show that it is charging from the charging light/power supply? Is there any life left in the battery? is the charger charging the battery? the batteries dont last in laptops usually about a year before the go bad and have to be replaced, Is the charger working? The chargers go faulty all the time, The little plug that plugs into the laptop goes faulty and is a very common fault and doesnt charge/power the laptop, The only thing you can try is another power supply of the same name/model/output voltage and current with the same small plug and polarity or another battery of the same type/model, If you can do this and it doesnt cure your fault it needs looked at by a technician, Hope this helps, If you need more assistance let me know,

I have compaq presario f572 notebook laptop. when i plug in AC adapter charging light is turn on but when i press power button its not turn on. anybody can help me............

The laptop is probably charging the battery. I assume you have already tried running this on AC power alone with the battery removed and then on battery power alone? If not try those methods first

Check to hear if the CPU cooling fan is spinning and there are sounds of the hard drive or CD Rom baing accessed. The laptop base should get warm around the heatsink vents after a few minutes too.

If there is CPU and HDD activity, the problem is most likely related to the graphics chip, common on HP / Compaq laptops. This will need a Reball.

If the laptop will physically not turn on and there is no activity as described above, the first thing to look at is the power switch. Remove the switch bezel and see if the power button on the motherboard is sticking or damaged (small contact about the size of a matchhead). Also check if there is a small cutout switch just below the screen near the hinge that is sticking or damaged.

After that, the issue may be the power circuit. Check that the AC adaptor is a tight fit and dis not sloppy, it may still charge the battery but fail to provide power for booting, it will need replaced if sloppy or loose

After that, the issue is likely to be motherboard related and will need a technician to test fully

I have a dell inspiron 1545. i have the charger plugged in but a red light is flashin on my laptop. this light then turns white and immediately red again.if i remove the charger the laptop just switches...

Probably battery, although that should be orange not red..
Remove battery and try it on AC alone, if that works, it was a damaged battery halting the process
If it does not, check the charger's tightness in the charging port, if sloppy or loose, this will need replacing.

Some Dell's are VERY picky about the charger, if not the exact model specified, they will not charge the battery

If none of the above, remove battery and test with another Dell charger of the same spec, if this also fails to work and you are sure the light is red, you have a problem with the motherboard. Commonly the charger power board fails on these.

98 ford e 150 van idles in park fine. But when accelerating, hesitates and jerks. changed fuel filter, but still jerks.

Did you try changing plugs and WIRES!! wires are the most common cause of this problem, under load if you have a bad cracked wire it will "leak" the spark causing a weaker spark there for making your spark at the plug weak not burning the entire charge in the cylinder. If this still doesn't solve your problem being the cheap way (im sure it may fix it) try by changing your coil packs let me know what happens. If all else fails you may have a sloppy injector

The screen went black then the power shut off. Now when I try to power it up I get blue lights like it wants to start then they go out ,flicker back on then go out and stay

battery is failing possibly

try to charge for two hours then test

if it does not take a charge then pull the battery out of the notebook

plug in just the power supply and try to boot the system

....

be sure your power plug fits properly in the socket ... plug-in should be firm

if the power plug is sloppy... then the power adapter kit can be purchased on ebay and installed by a technician locally for about 60usd

it is just soldered in place.,,,

the battery could be bad also

the test will of the battery will be if the system boots from the power supply or not when the battery is removed

hoping this is clear

Plugged in, not charging

I have fixed many laptops with charging problem. First get a voltmeter, and check if there is roughly 19 volts from the ac adapter. If there is 19 volts, then the adapter is good, and the problem is in the power connection. Unplugging the laptop and plugging it again takes toll on these connectors, and wears them out. The only solution would be to open the laptop itself and change the connector, or solder the part where it has been broken.

Phone wont turn on!

i have noticed that the mini plug for the charger and usb connection on RAZR V3 is sometimes sloppy. when the phone is charging it will definitely say battery charging on the external display and also flash the battery icon. i also noticed that the plug for the wall outlet is touchy.
make sure the plug is secure in the wall outlet
make sure the mini plug is secure in the phone
gently wiggle these connections if you have to till you get the battery charging message
if there are any connection problems there will be a unable to charge message instead.
