Question about Ariston Technologies Dishwashers

1 Answer

I just bought a house with an Ariston Dishwasher. We cleaned the parts inside, but it was closed up and full of mildew, the sides holding the door is like crouded. I have run it through several cycles but it doesn't empty the soap. Is there a certain type of soap that should be used and any suggestions on what else to use to clean out the mildew/mold smell?

Hi,

Below is an image from Ariston about the dispenser loading. Since I do not have your specific model number this may or may not look the same as yours. The type of detergent is up to you, powder, liquid, gel or tablets. If you use tablets make sure they fit into the door without forcing it closed or this could jam the door. Just be sure the detergent you use is for dishwashers, not hand washing detergent.

There is something you can try to get the dispenser working. Since the dishwasher sounds like it sat a while unused it may have gummed up the latch. The latch is the little trigger that holds the dispenser door closed and releases the dispenser lid. Move this back and forth putting a drop or two of cooking oil on it until it moves free. If this does not fix it, you will need to have the dispenser assembly replaced.

As far as the odor there is a product that works great for this. It is called 'Affresh' they make it for clothes washers and dishwashers, be sure to buy the yellow package as the green package is for clothes washers. There are instructions on the package and it works good and easy.

Let me know if you have questions.

Sorry I forgot to add the picture after all that typing.

I think it might be the type of soap, it was a hard square and was a tight fit. Otherwise, I will get the affresh and try it. Thanks

Yes the hard square tablets could cause that to happen.

I'm getting a "over level" error code on my new Samsung dishwasher, how do I fix this?

I had the same error code on my DW80F600 and ended up taking off the left side panel and removed the plastic chamber by removing all 4 hoses and 2 electrical connectors and unscrewing the holder that is inside of the washer. After that I cleaned the inside of the plastic housing with mold and mildew remover, soap and hot water until all the black crud was removed. I then reinstalled the parts and the dishwasher worked like a charm.
I hope this helps.

The rubber seal on my Ariston Aqualis AQXXF129 is mildewy and sludgy. I can't take it off to clean and I can't get to the parts that need cleaning.

Front loading washers will get mildew and detergent residue built up inside them, especially if you dont leave the door open after using them. They need to dry out when not in use. if you leave the door closed all the time, they never dry out, and mildew will take hold. Most manufacturers recommend a monthly cleaning by running an empty cycle with bleach on it's highest temp setting.

if you have neglected this, you may have to do it several times before the mildew will go away. once you get it clean, use an HE detergent, and leave the door open overnight after you complete your last load. After it dries out, you can close the door. Some of the new "eco friendly" detergents contain plant oils to replace the phosphates and surfactants in regular detergent. these oils will build up and cause a pinkish tan sludge inside the washer. If you must use them, you may have to do your cleaning maintenance more often to keep ahead of the build up. several companies now make a powdered cleaner for the inside of front load washers.

Dishwasher will not latch

more than likely the safety clasp inside of the door panel is broken. On the dishwasher at the top where the latch fits there should be a small metal shaft extruding from the dishwasher side. This shaft, when the door is closed, pushes a bar inside the door to release the latch for closing. If this shaft is protruding from the dishwasher side and insert into the door slot then the latch mechanism in the doior itself needs replacing. If the saft is missing then it needs replacing. Get the model and serial #'s off the unit and take them to an appliance parts house for the proper part replacement.

Hope this helped you

Ice dispenser door flap will not close completely. I'm sure something has sprung or broke inside the door. How do I get the face off to look at the mechanism that opens and closes the door?

Remove the top freezer hinge hover on top of the freezer door . Unplug the receptical there ( this will remove power to the door only ) .
Using a small screwdriver at the "crease" on the bottom of the dispensor control board inside the dispensor , twist slightly to disengage the 2 clips ( 1 on each side ) holding the dispensor board . Unplug the 3 connectors from the board . 4 screws ( 1 on each corner ) hold the dispensor housing shield . Remove these 4 small screws . After removing , at the top right , you will see a solenoid and plunger . These are probably rusted , holding the flap open . The part number for the solenoid and plunger is WR62X10055 . 3 screws hold this part on . When reinstalling the dispensor housing , It slides back on 2 "grooves" so make sure it is back in place , or the board will not snap back on properly at the bottom .

Ariston diswasher trips out as soon as door closed

hi On many dishwashers, the latch engages a switch to activate the timer and other control components. If the latch is not completely engaged or if the switch is faulty, the machine will not operate. Here's how to test and repair a door switch:

Step 1: Latch the door and hold the latch tightly in the closed position. This works best on a unit with a lever-type latch. Then turn the control to the ON position. If the unit works, the problem is probably a misaligned lock unit. Adjust the lock unit with a screwdriver. If this doesn't solve the problem, the switch may be faulty.

Step 2: Test the switch with a volt-ohm-milliammeter (VOM) set to the RX1 scale. Remove the panel covering the door switch and remove one of the electrical lead wires of the switch from its terminals. Clip one probe of the VOM to each switch terminal and shut the dishwasher's door. If the meter reads zero, the switch is working. If the meter reads higher than zero, the switch is faulty and should be replaced.

Step 3: Replace the switch with a new one of the same type. Connect the new switch the same way the old one was connected.
