Hi,
Do you have a slide switch on the left side of the laptop...next to the ports? It should be marked with an antenna symbol. If it's not there, you should have an antenna symbol on one of the keys. Sometimes it's one of the function keys such as the f10 key, you should see an antenna symbol on the key. Just press the fn key in the lower left corner and the f10 key at the same time to turn the wireless on.
Please let me know if it helps.
Thanks

Hi, I just started using my dell lattitude e6400 and need to know how i enable the wireless

The little stair step symbol is the Dell Wireless Utility.
If it has an X on it (as in the image above), your wireless is disabled.

Flip the switch on the right side of the laptop to enable it.

When the X disappears, double click on the stairs and it will open the utility.

I have a Del lattitude c600/500 laptop. It makes alot of noise, get hot after a while and shot down itself. How could this problem be rectified? Thank you. Dalhatu Oyibo.

which side of the laptop is getting hot?
if it is the left side, check the bettery. it may need replacement.
if it is the right side, then the HHD need is on its way out, better backup all your files NOW and get a new hard drive.

It turns on and shows the BIOS screen? Can you access via F2? If it shuts down, check the RAM and RAM slots! Wrong CPU can also imitate a dead machine

Wireless internet card for DELL C600 - ?

personally i would go for a usb wireless adapter as many people have driver problems with the pcmcia slot and are unable to get it to recognise the card, whereas usb is much simpler to use. All the usb type adapters are much the same they dont have to be the same make as your router, but buy the same transfer speed type, for example if you have a 108MBPS router buy the compatible 108 MBPS adapter as a 54MBPS adapter will reduce the transfer speed capabilty, not to be confused with your connection speed.
