Question about John Deere Garden

1 Answer

I am fabricating a 3 point rototiller and i am using a john deere rototiller as the main platform. I need to know the gear ratio in the gear cluster so that i can figure out the proper size drive pulley compared to my tractors PTO speed. the serial numbers and ID tags are not legible, The tiller is roughly 2.5 - 3 ft wide and was belt driven from the original JD Lawn tractor. from the belt drive there is an elbow drive connected to a chain drive down to the tines. I am assuming anywhere from a 100 - 200 model tractor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a John Deere D110 tractor. Can you tell me where to fill the rear end with gear oil. I can't seem to get any answers.

There is no rear end to fill with gear oil; the transmission is a sealed component; no maintenance is required.
There are grease fittings on the front axle and pivot points for regularly scheduled maintenance.

The shifters do run cables to the transmission but you likely only need to remove the panel from the right side that covers the shift rods and then you can tighten the 13mm nut that brings the linkage rods together, the nut is on the shift lever not the range lever,Let me know how you make out and if i am wrong also let me know and i will dig deeper.

Of the 100+ camshaft replacements that I personly have done on the 425/445 and John Deere Gators I have come across 3 that backfired when completing the replacement.2 were do to bent valves coming in contact with the piston after gear failed and 1 was from a sheared flywheel key.The only other time I had this same injected engine backfire was on a John Deere gator 620i that had a faulty computer and fired @ 90 derees off.Do a compresion check and that will help out alot.

You need to put your hydraulic pump in gear and the lever that runs the hydraulic outlets will run your rockshaft it might not go down if there is no load on the 3-point.
