Question about HP PSC 1510 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

How do I reset my 3-in-one?

All of the lights are blinking. Holding in the power button will not shut it down. It will not print, scan or copy. The only way to turn it off is to disconnect the power cord. When I plug it back in all of the lights are still blinking. When I open the front cover, the ink cartridges do not move into place. Is there a way to do a hard reset? Or do I need to take it somewhere for diagnosis & repair?

It does not tell you at what point to reinstall the cartridges. Nor whether the power is on or off when you disconnect from the computer and remove the cartridges as at this point the carriage is at the right of the unit .

    Hello Tewhena,

This is a hardware issue. Please perform a power drain on the unit and verify if the issue persists. Disconnect the printer from the computer if connected. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Wait for 60 seconds. Then connect the power cord back to the unit and then trun on the unit. If the issue persists, please contact the nearest Authorized Service Provider to repair it.

I wish you a good day.

I followed the reset instructions as explained. The psc 1510xi All-in-one is now completely dead. No lights, no life, no anything. Before I performed the reset, it was was working, but could not get the "Solution Centre" to open. After a number of solution attempts, I thought I would try this reset option. It sure didnt work. Can I Un-reset it?

Now, I am notesure why you have resetted your all in One hardware for a software issue (Solution Centre does not open). Please reinstall the printer driver once and verify if the solution center works. If the issue persists please let me know what excatly happens when you open the Solution Center

I wish you a good day. Tony

The printer will turn off and will turn on again.. follow the Alignment process

Green and orange lights flashing, saying service error 6000

read all first!
you didn't say how many blinking
and in what order so ...
First thing you need to do is print an EEPROM information page, step number 2 below.
Once you have an EEPROM print you can reset the waste ink counter, if needed, which is step number 4 below.
Service Mode: This printer has a service mode for service-related settings and for performing test prints. The operator panel buttons are used to enter the desired service mode.
Service Mode Operations
With the printer powered off, hold down the "Resume Button" and press the "Power Button".

While holding down the "Power Button", release the Resume Button" and press the "Resume Button" twice in succession. Now release the "Power Button".

The indicator will blink in green and remain lit in green.

Select one of the following service mode functions by pressing the “Resume Button” the specified number of times.

1 time = Service test print.
2 times = EEPROM information print.
3 times = EEPROM initialization
4 times = Waste ink counter resetting
5 times = Destination settings
6 times = Print head deep cleaning

Then press the “Power Button” one time to perform selected function.

If you press the "Power Button" two times it will take you out of service mode.

This information is listed above in this thread and many times in other Canon threads in this forum. I simplified Canons wording so I could remember the service mode functions easier.
