Question about Samsung RS2630WW Side by Side Refrigerator
There's ice buildup in the freezer and I want to de-ice it. The fridge section is working normally and I don't want to turn it off and ruin the food in that section. There's only one power chord for the whole unit - both sections. I've turned the freezer to it's mildest setting and opened the door, but the freezing element is still keeping the freezer too cold for the ice to melt. Is there an override switch, or a separate power switch for the freezer only? How do I de-ice this thing without powering the whole thing down?
Take all of the shelves out of the freezer side. Take to Philips screws for backing and 4 philips screws from vent cover just above cover. unplug, Use a hair blow dryer and melt it. Put it back together and there you go. Whole operation from start to finish is about 15 minutes.
